I don't agree with that sentiment and am actively trying to change those views with them; they'd be better off with half baked code found on a forum for 20 years ago than to keep letting vibe coding build upon bad habits and knowledge.

It might be language complexity; it's appealing to think of a translator that can get 90% of the way through a foreign language and context can carry the rest. But the programmers I've befriended find genAi gets 90% wrong but 10% started is easier than starting from 0.
