Your work is so serene, and I love your composition. I agree that cropping is everything—I was saying to my wife just last night that whenever I ask someone to take our picture, they try to capture too much. Concentrate on the details, on what matters.
Made me smile 😁
I saw True Stories in a commercial theater with about five other people, and no one got the jokes. Then I saw it again at our little neighborhood budget theater with a packed house, and everyone got the jokes. It's such deadpan humor. Also the first time I saw John Goodman. (I'm a dancing bear!)
Is this my beautiful wife?
We finally had a sunny weekend, and I was able to grab a few shots that worked in infrared. By necessity, IR is pushing me out of my representational comfort zone into very stylized images. My brain hurts. 🥴
I'm learning how to process IR images—these are all the same capture processed as B&W, false color, and false color with a R-G swap. The extreme color shifts and channel swaps can confuse Lightroom, and what I see is sometimes not what I get. Trippy stuff. 😵💫

Heh. My first thought was stacks of socks.
For instance, wild animal bleps . . .
Icicles form basically the same way as stalactites . . .
My brother, @pearwoodphoto.bsky.social has taken similar shots.
First thing that comes to mind is “highway to hell”, but I don’t think that’s the vibe you’re going for.
I’m nearly always lost. I inherited the absentminded professor gene from my mom. 😏
Your pic is still the old trestle. ❤️❤️
I don’t make it down every autumn, but the trip is always worthwhile.
I don’t think it was the fast ferry between Rochester and Toronto, but could have been. That was 20ish years ago.
I really am a geek, and I’m always curious about what stuff does.
I do a lot of volunteer photography for our local zoo, and I find animals’ goofy facial expressions quite endearing.
I’ve forgotten the details, but if I recall correctly, several years ago a ship was almost named Boaty McBoatface because of a media campaign by some scalawags and goofballs. 😏
Popular votes can lead to . . . interesting results.
Not up on my classic cameras—is that an Ikoflex viewfinder? If so, what did you shoot it on? Another Ikoflex?
That is one ridiculous bird. 😏
Looked up the flags—didn't realize same how similar they were. Same Union Jack, same blue background, both have the Southern Cross.
That is still working a line.
Say it ain't so!
Kinda the raison d'etre of the whole show. 😏
Heh. I figured @jaycee-visionlogic.bsky.social would like this. 😏
It had a history for sure—almost 100 years. Problem was, it was going to fall down with a train on it.
I mistook the flag—kinda small, and I need new glasses.
How long have you been in Oz?
