Grateful to the editors of Great Lakes Review for publishing my poem Air, Locked.
Check out fine writing from the regions in the US and Canada that touch on the lakes: greatlakesreview.org/air-locked/
Stitching up the fields ahead of a squall.
Truly. I first read it years ago and come back to it often. Thanks for resurfacing it for me!

Ok, I work for small charity and all Iβm hearing these days is how AI is unavoidable; get on board or get run over. I believe in meaningful work for humans. Is it possible to resist adoption of AI at your company? Anybody doing it? How?

It's going to be another sultry few days in #Ottawa. Why not get out on the water to beat the heat? This post points you to beaches, marinas, kayaking spots and waterfront cafes all over Southeastern Ontario. Make the most of summer while it lasts! #sponsored ottawaroadtrips.com/2025/07/31/g...
I have outdoor pigs. They regularly knock me down. They really should pay. Iβm all in on pig revenge. Pigvenge.
Susan Wismer shares her poem βOn Distanceβ with us today, along with some of her favourite poets, the other art forms that inspire her, and some of the best advice sheβs received as a writer. Thanks Susan!

It was a treat to speak on @newbooksnetwork.bsky.social w/ Kingston, Ontario poet Callista Markotich about her beautiful collection, Wrap in a Big White Towel (Frontenac House).
(Also, have you also noticed how many incredible writers live in Kingston? )

Here's my poem from the latest issue of Concision. One especially wonderful thing about this beautiful mag is that it includes reflection on the poem as well as book recs. Sarah Yu-Mei Tsiang features in both of mine. Thanks to EIC @haleylasche.bsky.social ! www.concisionpoetry.com/francesboyle

Why does the scene from A Christmas Story where Ralphie fights the bully keep coming to my mind?

Dogs in the snow-nosed yards.
I hope the toddlers are also in camo.

Shaindel, Canadians are scared. Weβre facing an unprovoked attack from the country that was once our closest ally. We obviously know not everybody there voted for this guy, but somebody did and now, as the much smaller nation, weβre going to be dragged down with you. Thatβs what youβre seeing.
What is time anyway?
Thereβs a lovely version of A Childβs Christmas with Denholm Eliiott β a BBC production I think. We watch it every year.
Lovely, and thanks for a positive perspective on fruit flies. * * *
