I ended up knowing people personally who are dear friends, but in reality it was just the idea that they are people and deserve respect and love. The way I'd like to be treated. A boring story to be sure.

How can I program without ever learning even one thing about it? They are so mad people pour time and effort into skills while they haven't. Looking forward to a series of constantly crashing software that is completely unmaintainable.
But we're going to touch the stove and we'll be touching it more than probably ever before. And we're not going to get burned. We're not going to get burned
We get anywhere on this?
My Stewie Griffin impression is *spot on*
"That's the way it is." This is your boy? Embarrassing to simp for a loser who hates you.
This fucking sucks. Retire you dusty bitch.
This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism vs. No It Wonβt
We made a $400,000,000 film using AI and only 10 minute, and it looks like shit. Hollywood is cooked.
I recommend this book at every occasion I can. AI is the ultimate expression of the accountability sink. It performs two duties, removes any need to critically think and deal with messy emotions and ethics AND when things go awry or there is blowback, you can simply blame the "malfunctioning" AI.
One exception for the death penalty
UGHHHH *wouldn't* have to convince me. Edit button plz.
Machinima is a totally valid medium. Arguably with unreal engine we are closer to the merge of film and machinima. But it all requires creativity and authorial intent. Slop just captures it best. It's just nutrient-less garbage. It can't sustain you. You will always hunger for real food.
It's not that it's not fun to mash up your favorite characters, it's that it's soulless and lacks any meaning or creativity. Haloid by the late Monty Oum is a great example of fan mashups that were incredible to watch. To see what they did after and see those talents grow was awesome.
Brother, if AI was truly the death of Hollywood and film making you would have to sit here and convince me. Go off and create the next Citizen Kane. But you can't because it's all soulless crap. It's you playing with action figures, but worse, you aren't even creating the narrative.
I am doing this with pebbles. It feels amazing.
Come join us!
Just imagining Niles Crane saying
"Fraiser, I've been looksmaxxing. Last week, at wine club, I was framemogged. I cannot let this injustice stand."
Congrats!
sigh
But that's showbiz!
I'm really sorry. That is so shitty. I hope the future is better.
This but about *EVERYTHING* AI is purported to do. It's not just that AI is wasteful, built with stolen material, and puts your brain into a blender, it also just can't do what the AI pushers say it can.
No, babe, I think it's cute we have to update our TVs now.
"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years
this stuff has really broken me. it's simply astounding that so many people who have been allowed to amass unimaginable wealth are so droolingly stupid, so unmoored from and in fact hostile to any sense of community or social responsibility, and oh by the way they love to constantly rape children
