They led us there with candy, and we explained that normally it would be easier to lead our family to candy with booze.

My sister and I explored Atlas 9 in suburban KC tonight, and there's this narrative to explore, and things to discover, but someone led us to this hidden bar on the second floor, and we lost the plot pretty quickly.

But had a good time, regardless!

Been reading this. Not half bad! The first issue being a straight Walking Dead riff (woman wakes up after months in a hospital in a monster dystopia) left me a little cold but then the second issue pivoted to evangelicals declaring civil war against the vampire deep state and now I'm on board again

Thanks for reading!

I was treating the hospital thing as a kind of trope, to be honest. I remember when both the Walking Dead and 28 Days Later opened that way within weeks of each other.

With the affection for 70s Fleetwood Mac, I'm surprised this album doesn't seem to be in print (or on streaming services).

John Stewart on his own was pretty great, but with Lindsey Buckingham producing, and he and Stevie Nicks backing Stewart up, it's a lovely slice of late 70s LA folk pop.

"Breaking into comics" panels are always fun, because the pathways in are so often either unrepeatable or accidental.

I'm just so done with it all.

Donald Trump contends that Iran STOLE A TOMAHAWK and bombed the girls' school with it.

This is the GODDAMN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

We're just done. Overs. I'll meet you all at the border.

I just wrote a Substack about things like this:

Side note: Matt Smith is one of the nicest, most talented creators I know, so I'm not throwing shade.

A true sign of where we are is that every time I run into someone I know and tell them I've been thinking about a move to Portugal, they tell me which country they're thinking of moving to.

In terms of his basketball journey, John Starks has the craziest story I've ever heard.

The bombing of Iranian children is an unforgivable crime America has blood on its hands.

New in PN: The bombing of Iranian children is an unforgivable crime

"American disinterest in the lives of people abroad is a resource politicians use to justify cynical wars. It's hard to see on what moral grounds we claim a right to decide the fate of those about whom we clearly care so little."

Determined to start the week by absolutely nailing some new projects, I of course spent the first two hours of the morning assembling a playlist of Moog covers of 60s and 70s pop songs.

Out of my way, world!

love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region

Warm humid spring days with clouds always bring back memories of the tornado.

Last night I read a Substack or two giving advice based on what they seemed to suggest were absolutes or facts about the comics industry, and it tripped my trigger, because there are no absolutes or facts in the comics industry. So I spat out a Substack note on this:

Caroline Ahern. RIP

The Royle Family was such a beautiful show.

It was often a testament to unspoken, underlying familial love.
