I assume it will be like how we βdidnβt participateβ in Iraq
Liberals on here celebrating the alleged death of the NDP (a narrative that has been spoon fed to them by corporate media) will be dismayed to find out that things donβt stay the way they are right now forever.
In fact, they frequently change. The NDP have been reported as dead before.
Oh Iβm aware
Attended an Avi Lewis campaign event the other evening and it was packed to the walls. There is a LOT of excitement + fundraising going on for this leadership campaign.
Just because the corporate media doesnβt report on it, doesnβt mean itβs not true. The rumours of the NDPβs death are exaggerated.
Very disappointing indeed. Canadian federal politics are so postmodern!
For Mahmoud Khalll, this past year has been marked by profound hardship-and by profound courage. A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child. Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.

I think human beings have a responsibility to speak out against genocide, especially when they are the ones administrating it.
Kamala Harris did not lift a finger to stop the genocide or speak out in any meaningful way.
As the second-in-command of Israelβs partner in genocide (and the only one with a functional brain given her president) she had an enormous amount of power to save Palestinian lives.
And she chose not to.
