Oh! I've never met a cat who didn't love that kind of spring toy (www.jacksongalaxy.com/products/spr...) but they ALWAYS get stuck under the refrigerator and you never see them again until you move.

Writer Internet is full of pics of writers partying together at conventions, making it easy to feel like that's what you need to do to succeed, but it's actually totally unnecessary. (Fun! But unnecessary.)

The only thing you *need* to do to write professionally is write and submit your work.

Oh, also, a rug rolled up with the underside outermost is going to turn into a scratching post whether you want it to or not.

Cat trees covered in carpet are, ime, shredded very quickly and leave fluff all over your house. That said, cats do like to scratch. I feel like they prefer the underside of carpet to the top, actually.

Personally I'd go scratching post, & non-carpeted tree that gives a nice high-up seat.

Oh no! There's no cure for that! I really hope he doesn't also get a diagnosis of being silly or a goofball. But I fear being a silly goof is so widespread among dogs and often comorbid with terminal cuteness that there's no hope here.

the thing about being part of a diaspora is that your culture is formed around diaspora and people who didn't leave may not share it, even if diaspora culture is a lot about the place from which you left.

At this time, I am speaking of Irish and Irish-American.

"Handing out editing awards when you can't edit" is classic.

That aside, this summarises my view. BAFTA and the BBC should have all the heat from this incident.

i keep seeing writers who want both:
* to be bold iconoclasts going against the pretenses and trends of the day and
* to have a perfect 5.0 review score on goodreads

and like, I'm sorry. those things don't go together.
