Genuinely considering paying for the shingles vaccine*. 17% lower risk of dementia, 25% lower risk of heart attack or stroke, 27% reduced risk of blood clots, 26% lower risk for heart failure, lower all-cause mortality AND you avoid being a nasty infection? Count me in!

Young authors writing older characters: 70 is not that old. Pls drop the nostalgia for Elvis & fear of smart phones. A 70-yo just left her corporate job a year ago & has been on the internet longer than you have. She isn’t afraid to drive on the freeway, she’s commuted for decades. πŸ™„

I've seen a lot of people dying in my job. But I've not been present throughout an experience of ordinary dying until now. If interested to know more this film by Kathryn Mannix is spot on. It's sad but it's really not so bad. With a book, cup of coffee, family chat.

How fast does a protein fold? Real-time technique captures the moment Proteins assume complex 3D shapes even faster than does DNA, which is a simpler molecule.

Scientists say they have made some of the first direct measurements of how long it takes an individual, ordinary protein to fold – and the results were surprising.

Have you had the opportunity to see our Core20PLUS5 framework?
This framework is based on similar ones from NHS England. It aims to help identify older people who have unequal access to and experience of healthcare, and to target action to counter that inequality. Click to view: buff.ly/TiIT0lU

Running a business on your own can be challenging at times.

Today feels like a good day to say that I'm proud of what I've built. And I'm proud to be part of a community of women who are out there doing the same.

Happy International Women's Day.

Yes, those Sacklers, whose company, Purdue Pharma, caused >800k deaths from pumping out opioids. 1/3

Good morning β˜€οΈ
A thought for today:

Social media can be a negative place to be. We have no obligation to consume negativity but we can also regard bad news as an incentive for us to produce more kindness, compassion & love for ourselves and others.

Be a factory that transforms thorns to flowers.

I invited all my friends to Bluesky and they pretty much all moved. That or found work colleagues/friends on LinkedIn. I also made sure had alternative form of contact outside social media. A rare look on X but really could stop even that.
