A very quick scribble in surprise to Bravely Default HD coming out today. My favourite 3DS RPG next to Bravely Second.

i love ac1 cuz it has the funny awkward voice acting of shadow tower and fun kinetic music with cool set pieces like this super computer covered in wires and lights that makes cute lil beepboopy sounds and all of this comes together to make such a charming game, this fucks so hard
Chop goblin reference side-by-side
Oh, also, it was pretty fun reverse engineering stuff by super zooming in on screenshots of chop goblins haha, I recommend it. Also chop goblins itself, it's so good
There's also lots of bloom (lol sorry) that I will tone down, and some signal static.
I do wonder how much people will tolerate bloom... Oblivion was "my" elder scrolls game and I absolutely love how bloom looks. You always have to make it optional, but I'd be gutted if a player turned it off...
I have very little shader knowledge, so I found it challenging. Luckily there are lots of open source shaders to cannibalize. I was surprised that I couldn't find any godot shaders with the chroma bleed effect; everyone uses chromatic aberration, which I think looks a bit gross :)
A prototype environment with some yellow text, a lamp, explosion, and simple shapes. The post processing adds glow, crt colour bleed, and a fine sinewave distortion, making the image look somewhat dreamy and VHS-core

A zoom-in of the previous image, showing the sine-wave distortion and chroma bleed
Spent a day recreating some of the post-processing in Chop Goblins. I'm happy with how it came out! I wrote a CRT chroma bleed and a tiny sine-wave distortion across the whole image. It's hard to see below 100% zoom.
there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
Ayy nice! This is my first time seeing your game, checked out your steam page, it looks great!

A grey hoodie with text which reads: βBuy a man eat fish, He day, teach fish man To a lifetime.β
Wise words
A dark scene with CRT-style filtering featuring a bench, lamp-post and a number of hands reaching out of the ground
Been having fun trying post processing and other new things for me. My favourite bits of working on a game project are the messing around with half finished assets~
I absolutely must take the time to get into Daggerfall
At 9:18, 3rd period of the Finland-Switzerland women's ice hockey QF game, the ice crew came to clean the ice during a pause
What follows is the funniest use of the slo-mo alternate angle tech I've seen them use during these Olympics of one of the crew members falling
This looks gorgeous!
i love the daggerfall ost sm but it can get a lil repetitive during longer sessions, so i tossed on some takashi kokubo to spice things up and i gotta say, it fits pretty dang nicely :))
speaking of cool cheap effects: the shadow from the ceiling fan in Robo Recall is not a real shadow or even a light function or even a decal, it's a rotating translucent mesh
Hello! Omen of Duality is a Super Hydlide / Ys / Zelda inspired game I've been working on.
Stop playing games when you're done with them, whenever that may be:

I donβt like the βthis content is tiresome to make so itβs good to have the machine handle itβ argument. If itβs that tiresome to make it might be tiresome to play through, have you considered cutting it?

Angeline Era is out! i loved the demo. this game has such a beautifully designed world. it has a delightful lacelike quality- screens flowing into each other, rectangular elements interwoven with organic, towns knit into forests.
8 days to angeline era!! Today... meet some of our little low-poly creatures!! We utilize a mixture of vertex colors and texturing to give them a kind of retro-modern flair.

comparison between apple's finder icon and mine. apple's is the split blue and white smiley face, mine is two blue and white anime girls making out
comparison between discord's icon and mine. mine is like a screaming cat on a blue/purple slimy background
comparison between celsys's clip studio paint icon and mine. mine is similar but rotated with some comic styling and pink and blue highlights
comparison between mozilla's firefox icon and mine. mine is similar but looks closer to the old firefox icon and brings back the little arm and gives the fox a cute little smiley face
last week i remembered that macOS lets you set your own icons and that *I* have the power to delegitimize the professionalism of the software that runs on my machine, so here's a thread of the 16 new icons i've made so far
i really forgot how fun it was to just sit down and make art for myself :')
I love the gamera movies so much dude
Steam intentionally killing an old, respected, and beloved decade old indie game studio through bullshit policy is fucking wild
This thing took so much work, from so many people - RPGs have so many little working parts, and we did so much to try to make this world feel alive. The team is just vibrating right now, seeing how this all goes, but for now it's great to just have it out there, in people's hands.
