Some calm music for Wednesday.

Also, someone offered up lyrics from Empire State of Mind as a suggestion, and now I have the Newport (SW) parody "Ymerodraeth State of Mind" stuck in my head.

Had the best night at the Store thanks to #comedystoreplayers - I think we saw a potential candidate for a new national anthem, exploring life in 2026 Britain. I reckon it's a go-er.
Also a realistic inspirational song "Just don't do it" and the lengths folk will go to for the last can of nuts.
A Flo and Joan song for every occasion

I'm going to mention this again because enough people have signed up to make it non-embarrassing. Among many other things, you get four tickets to my shows a year, so if you were thinking of maybe coming, it pays for itself: a little like a Two Together railcard, which I also really recommend.
On a call to Mum and she's going through a family bowling booking: "we have two lanes so we'll do an old vs young people"
Me: "yes! We'll absolutely hammer you!"
Mum:...
Me: "...oh wait... Am I an oldie now? Dammit."

Sending all my love xx
Very exciting - I've wanted to see School of Night for a long time. They are not only part of Hoopla's 20th birthday celebrations next month but also have 2 dates at Park Theatre coming up.

New @thehornesection.bsky.social podcast series coming up soon - these ones are being recorded live at the Leicester Sq Theatre. If the rest of the series is anything like last night, we're in for a real treat!
Any any suggestionsm that non white people can't be British or English should be like saying the sun orbits the Earth and the moon is made of Stilton. It should make you look like a complete fucking looney. Not a candidate for Westminster
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the updates! I think it was joint favourite with the Wild West for me, although my favourite ever individual bit of set goes to the Pac Man machine!
Proof that conditioning works.
Tired AF, pop this on, within seconds feel like i have enough energy for...say...another 100 minutes.
Same still happens with last year's Improvathon signature song.

I have to leave to go home soon but I am not ready for 2 things:
1) facing daylight. I should have packed sunglasses.
2) it's not the 80s outside.
I'll need to load up a playlist first, I think.
A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nationβs people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.
We mustnβt let this war do so.
I kind of missed the fact that we stepped into March yesterday.

Ep 25
Ok #improvathon, you broke me.
I was emotionally stable until Lucy Trodd & Ruth Bratt sang their duet - it was beautiful.
Anyway, episode featured lots of tying up of loose ends and lots of laughter.
Thank you everyone who performed or assisted in the production of this special show.
Ah, last tweet should be ep23. This is Ep 24 #Improvathon
Callback in Ep22 to Improvathons past (character choosing 1 of 3 backstory options) led to Tristan leaving it in the hands of the audience, who obviously chose the Superman origin story.
And Improvathon made it so. Helps save the day.
Ep 24 #Improvathon
Some energising aerobics, a Thriller dance and Diner owner Sugar Butterflour reveals her bespoke baking side hustle "Only Flans" to Mitch.
Ep22 #Improvathon
The human bowling scene and subsequent cast and director analysis of the scene made me laugh so much.
These are the things I love about the 'thon.
I stayed for Family Hour (#Improvathon Ep21). I don't have the level of filter after a lack of sleep that the performers have in order to clean up all the storylines and references. (Of course, i'm still hearing the filthy versions in my own head).
Also Ep 20 #Improvathon - Sarah Louise Young as Bob Ross is perfect. Very calming art class.
Ep 20 #Improvathon... yeah, I'm disappointed I dropped 4 episodes but I was hallucinating little sparks of fire so thought probably time to leave for a little while.
Anyway... he's back!
Doc: "i've been to 2026 - you won't believe who's President!"
And that's me bowing out for Saturday. Really hoped to make 3am or 5am but it's not happening. Back in the morning.
Ep 15 #Improvathon
The quality of note-taking dropped off a cliff this episode but we had the fashion show and a lot of fallout from the trial.
Photos: 1) big cheer number
2) Dick tries to have a conversation with Zero but all the voices in his head keep getting in the way.
Ep 14 #Improvathon
I approve of the Charlie's Angels live rewrite.
Alien cow-milking. Only one person wanted this to happen. It wasn't the person milking, being milked, or anyone in the audience. π
One of my favourite fight sequences i've seen onstage.
