I'm not going to start guessing this reporter's sources, but there are absolutely defence contractors in/around Boston who could be privy to this sort of info. (I believe Anthropic has offices there, too.)

Sorry, my initial post was wrong (as @chronotope.aramzs.xyz pointed out.) This reporting says AI systems were used for targeting was used in Iran, and that it was likely responsible for the school strike. It doesn't identify Claude. But we do know Claude was being used: www.wsj.com/livecoverage...
You're right, it doesn't mention Claude. We know Anthropic/Claude was used in strike targeting because of reports from the WSJ and others.

The story confirms that Claude is being used to make operational decisions, and the source says that's likely how it came to hit the school. I probably. Could have added a qualifier, but that is what the article says.
