View from the new webcam. Lovely clear blue sky with fells lit by sunlight in the distance and the rooftops of Keswick in the foreground.
We have a webcams page where you can find links to over twenty webcams around the Lake District so you can check the weather right now. We've just added the webcam at Northern Lights Gallery which has a lovely view towards Catbells and Grisedale Pike.

John Newsome bought a coffee: "Completed the 214 Wainwrights with much assistance from your website - so just want to say βthank youβ."
We replied: "Wow! Well done John, and thank you for your very generous donation."
John just completed his first round of Wainwrights and thanked us for our help by making a *very* generous donation to us via Ko-Fi. If our site helps you then you can do so too if you're so inclined. It helps us keep the web site going.

Apparently you can use your parent's credit card so we're now an adult. Bet that's happening a lot right now. Easy to borrow your parent's card and, as it's not charged, they'll never know. π

WalkLakes was born in 2011 so we're 14 now. Looks like we won't be doing any direct messaging then ...

It's a dull and damp day in the #LakeDistrict today but don't forget you can always see how the weather is now on one of the many #webcams around the area. We have a page with links to many of them and here's a screen shot of the view from George Fisher right now.

A sunny day in the Lakes. In the foreground a mass of bracken, further back a few deciduous trees, and beyond them a lake with fells behind it. All under a blue sky with only a few clouds.
Looking down on Rydal Water from the Coffin Road.
This photograph is featured in 'Grasmere and Rydal Water' which is currently our third most popular #LakeDistrict walk.

Today sees our last #LakeDistrict #trigpoint photo and it's Jessie, of course, sitting close beside the trig point on Skiddaw.

Traditional stone built trig point sits in the sun on fairly bare rocky ground close to an edge. More fells in the distance all under a fairly blue sky with some cloud.
We are almost out of #LakeDistrict #trigpoint photos but here's the one on The Old Man of Coniston taken on another fairly sunny day.
We've got lots of walks up or around the Old Man

Traditional stone construction trig point sits on rocky ground with a thin covering of snow under pretty clear blue sky with high cirrus.
Here's the #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint on Seatallan on a clear but cold February day. Traditional stone construction again, so much nicer than concrete.

A traditional stone built trig point sits on a rocky fell top to the right of the photo with a small tarn to the left. There are many more fells in the distance. All under a sky with some cloud but the sun is breaking through.
Oooh, we've found another good photo of the #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint on Red Screes.

A traditional stone built trig point sits on a rocky fell top with many more fells in the distance. There's still a little snow on one of them. All under a sky with some cloud but the sun is breaking through.
Not sure why we stopped posting #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint but here's the one on Red Screes. Traditional stone construction and in good condition when we visited on a fine April day.

A stone built trig point set on rocks sits on a fell under cloudy skies. In the distance a lake can be seen.
It's been a couple of weeks since we posted #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint (cos Covid π·) but here's the one on Place Fell. Traditional stone construction again and in good condition, with Ullswater beyond. Bit of a grey day when we visited.

Jess (tri-colour collie from the look of it) lying down with their rescue harness on and looking intently into the distance
This is a fairly routine #Wasdale MRT call out report but the team lead was Jess who was a Very Good Dog and we couldn't resist the photo.

A stone built trig point sits on rocky ground. There is a dusting of snow around, both on the same fell and more distance fells and the sky is blue with some white clouds.
A favourite #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint of ours is the one on Loughrigg Fell and our walk to it from Ambleside is currently our most popular download.

Stone built trig point sits on bare ground but the rest of the fell top is grassy. An overcast day but some fells just visible in the distance. At the foot of the trig point is a plastic(?) triangle of red about a foot across.
Today's #LakeDistrict #Trigpoint is the one on Loadpot Hill, one of Wainwright's Far Eastern Fells lying between Ullswater and Haweswater.
Traditional stone again and looked like it had been grouted recently.
(The red thing at the base is an orienteering marker for a race happening that day.)

Under a blue sky with little cloud a stone built trig point in good condition stands on a grassy mound with browner ground beyond across the fell top. A dog sits further away looking into the distance.
Today's #LakeDistrict #TrigPoint is the one on Little Mell Fell and was in fine condition when we visited it on a sunny day, with Blencathra in the distance behind it.
It's easy to access via a remarkably short and steep walk from the straightforward access point of The Hause.
