To echo the sentiments of G.K. Chesterton, fairy tales do not tell children that monsters exist β because they know that already. But rather more importantly, fairy tales tell them (and us) that the monster can be killed. And such stories must never ever go out of fashion.
I'll add - bring a little speaker & a playlist of some energetic music (protest & otherwise) - we can have some fun while we're out there. Started doing that last year & invariably have folks come up every protest to thank me for bringing some tunes.
