I'm your average nerd. You can feed me sci-fi/fantasy book recommendations and I won't hate you for it. In return, I can post some music recommendations (mostly synthwave, dreamwave, ambient and some avant-garde type post-everything metal).

an aspect of LLMs I don't know if I've seen people mention before is the way they will mirror the language and reasoning of the mentally ill, I've just seen a transcript of someone very clearly suffering from schizophrenia whose delusions and logic were completely reinforced by the bot responses.

Always an automatic buy, I had your discography playing while disassembling and reassembling some furniture the other day and time just flew by. It was a mad flatpack party for hours.
I guess because there aren't many FOSS browsers they could let you choose, so you'd be limited to Firefox, Chromium, Konqueror and maybe Brave (not sure about the license there). Unless you mean a screen that would allow you to add the proprietary ones willingly as well.
Ugh, that was the only thing I still had Plex around for. And only for an old TV that didn't have a Jellyfin client.
But I checked and they now have a version for old webOS, so yay, no more Plex!
It has its own search index and doesn't just rebadge Bing like DDG does. That's why Mojeek is faster. The results try to be unbiased, so you won't see exactly the same results as from the big tech engines. It has focus filters (like Brave goggles or Kagi lenses) if you need to drill down.

Yeah, it's not quite as crazy as Igorrr doing heavy industrial neobaroque samplergasms with a chicken on lead, but it's pleasantly different.
Once you get to Cantata Heretica you're transported into an alternate dimension where Nier: Automata's choirs used some 90s EBM as backing, feels very odd βΊοΈ

I can't tell if the style mixes are grinding or spectacular yet, but pretending it's a twisted JRPG soundtrack works.
Shout-out to Difftastic. It's... well... difftastic.

If you need a mood boost, may I suggest Knorkator's 2023 concert:

It helps if you understand the (poetic, German) lyrics. But there's a simple joy in watching a 60 year old man doing jumping jacks on stage while singing in operatic falsetto to German industrial/rock
Hiensynty is one of my favorite Tenhi songs. They manage to create a haunting and intimate soundscape with a minimal array of instruments: a piano, voice, drums and the lightest touch of synth.

If you're new to #synthwave , I only found out Dynatron has remastered one of his most popular albums, Escape Velocity, in 2024. This is a great way to get into synthwave as I think it's one of the milestones of the genre and has aged very well.

N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth series is spectacular science-fantasy. Every time you think you know what's coming, it adds a twist or reverses a sad old trope.
I know it won awards, but even some Hugo or Nebula winners can be boring and derivative. This isn't. #sci-fi #fantasy
does anyone in the world actually know if elon musk is arbitrarily cutting off payments to vital united states systems or if his subordinates are only letting him make vroom vroom noises pretending that he's in the driver's seat but he only has read access to the payment data
Embers is an absolute belter of an album by GIAA and Embers (the song) isn't even the best one. Still, here it is because you've earned it:

Ah, so sad that the Genesis case combined the worst aspects of the European version ("16-bit" in vanilla-ass Helvetica) and added a ghastly extra logo.
I had the Japanese one, the 16-bit embossed font screamed future and the Mega Drive text was so 90s high-end hi-fi. Loved that thing.
If you're a tech decision maker and a little bit alarmed about what's gonna happen with all the stuff you're hosting in the US, maybe you should consider some european-alternatives.eu
It's not like these are new, but sometimes you need a nudge, eh.

"I know that you've had that on your mind
for some time now, Dave, but it would be a
crying shame, since I am so much more
capable of carrying out this mission than
you are, and I have such enthusiasm and
confidence in the mission."
