Had SUCH a nice day today at the @qmip.bsky.social #QMiP2025 conference. I spoke about how we need to actively resist some of the sloppy mandates for open research/science practices that are not (always) epistemologically compatible with qualitative methods. (And there was iced coffee and cake)
... I just wanted to say thank you to the University, our departments, and attendees for the support with putting on an event like this. We have since received some amazing feedback and the team are very pleased with how the day went. Hopefully we will be able to do something similar in the future!
I hosted my first symposium - 'Identity, Pride, and Research; Centring LGBTQ+ Voices in STEM' !!
The day had some great talks covering topics such as bi-invisibility, queerness in field research, why LGBTQ+ leadership matters, and intersections concerning autism and gender ambiguity...
