Kit looked up into Fray's yellow eyes, but her feet were already hitting the floor as he dropped her legs. "Might I at least bother you for—" She nodded, a fraction of a motion before he pressed a hand to her chest. She winced, then hissed as it sank into her, past her sternum, and into the space where their shared heart pounded. He leaned forward, tugging her lips into a soft kiss. When he drew back, a bright magenta thread of magic hung between their mouths. She bit back another whimper, this one of pain, and watched his eyes blaze red before her as her aether transferred. His hand released her, his own expression pained and embarrassed. "Kit, I will pass this door with or without your greeting," Y'shtola fussed. When her eyes flicked back, Fray was gone.

And with that, I am off the bed.

The first strike Kit holds against Hydaelyn was the sacrifice of Minfilia to spare her own life. Kit still believes she could have saved her.

For all everyone says Minfilia made a choice of agency, Kit believes otherwise.

But she was just the first in a string of loved ones lost to this war.

Minfilia offered her a place to fit in, and answers. And while the latter never quite came, the former swept her away in a friendship she quickly treasured. Minfilia was her first friend in her (almost) adult life, and someone she looked up to, even as she began to doubt her own purpose.

Kit adored Minfilia. At least in life, and in death she was easily forgiven any disappointments she left behind.

Eorzea may as well have been upside-down when Kit arrived from Golmore, and while she fully loved adventuring and the Marauders' Guild, she felt listless.
