I loved it. Was I the only one who noticed the subtle digs at the current mess we're in?
Just fabulous.

My only complaint is parliamentary telly cutting out at the best bits ... What a speech!
The best whisky! Lรก fhรฉile Pรกdraig sona dhuit from Aotearoa, New Zealand! ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ช
Also appreciated her including his "dancing" ...
This is a great thread. I love this train journey. It reminds me that I'm well over due a repeat, I just need an excuse to go to Auckland now ๐
I agree ... Utopia is very funny, even if a little too real ๐ and Fisk is brilliant.
It's as though an MP hasn't died in office before! It's probably protocol ...
Moreover, where is the respect?? I'm less and less inclined to say NZ's better than that, which is heartbreaking! โค๏ธ
Also, they probably only sit once a week anyway ๐
Is this our "Bush wasn't that bad after all, at least he knew politics" moment? God, help us!!
Who woulda thought that Liz Truss was a Republican ๐
Exactly! Very good point.
They've been making quite the statement this season in this political climate, is NZ cricket. I'm absolutely loving it! ๐๐๐ณ๐ฟ
Is that the Tinorangatiratanga flag flying at the NZ/SA Tangiwai test??
Nice work NZ cricket. Loving your mahi this year! ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ
I know, it's a gorgeous tribute. I have the DVD of the film made for Sunday Theatre. It's a wonderful love story.
My G'dad played provincial cricket at the time, playing against Bert Sutcliffe & captaining Western Districts. I'm sure he would've known Bob Blair & approved of this tribute.
It may've just been for the inaugural Tangiwai test, but still, it's making a statement; and was absolutely beautiful!
Especially when it lead straight to the two bilingual anthems. ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฆ
It makes me very proud to be a cricket follower.
Or, showing where they stand in the current political climate ๐๐๐๐
The beauty of the test format is watching in the background. ๐๐
Exactly! There is far too much teal blue.
Go the (as I now like to call them) ANZ caps ...
***I notice they now have ANZ blue caps rather than black ones.
I will say again: it's sponsorship, not branding!
But that's the ANZ for you!
Anyway ... On'ya boys. Have a good game. ๐๐๐
Far too much ANZ bank on the black caps uniform these days ... Speaking of which, where are the "blackcaps"??
ANZ blue more like!
It's sponsorship, not branding. Yuck!
What a finish ... Nice play boys ๐๐๐
Catch!
That'll do it ..
Just got home and it's on ... Bring it!!
๐ฅ
Smells like first week back at work Friday ...
I asked my (much younger) workmate if he recognised this today. For the reason that everytime he says "Kiaora" to us he does in a way that reminds me of Suzy.
He didn't recognise the song, and it was a huge scandal in the office ๐๐ข
The missed generation I guess ๐ณ๐ฟ
๐ฅณ
Shapes up a good new year's to me ...

Pukekura Park in New Plymouth. My Grandad played his cricket here captaining Western Districts when mum was young.
Such a lovely ground, and still so family/picnic at the cricket friendly.
It's still cricket ๐
Rain delayed (by a day and one hour) ... But still cricket.
Gotta love pukekura.
Hinds and stags
Yep, that happens. I hope you're feeling better soon. Hugs โค๏ธ
