#QuattrocoloLab preprint out π! We explored changes in the proteome of hippocampal and dentate gyrus growth cones at early postnatal stages. We see that at P1 growth cones from the two subregions are very similar, but start to diverge from P3, with HP growth cones maturing earlier then DG ones.
Congratulations!
I really had the best time visiting Vilnius University for the Summer School on Neurodevelopment! Wonderful campus, lovely city and great interactions!
And we are saying goodbye to the first postdoc of the #QuattrocoloLab. It will be sad not to have Keagan around anymore, but he is off to another great adventure! It has been a pleasure working with him and I will surely miss our gene network related discussions a lot!
The #QuattrocoloLab has 5 posters at the #FRM2025. We have interneurons, growth cones and Cajal-Retzius cells, going from proteomics to behavior. Stop by in the Development session Tuesday afternoon!
We're hiring! Our lab is looking for a postdoc to investigate the #evodevo of #cephalopod brains. Did you recently graduate, and do you want to join our EU #WEAVE project with the Simakov and @simon-sprecher.bsky.social labs? Find the application formπThanks for RT ππ¦

A small delegation of the #QuattrocoloLab is @corticodevelopment.bsky.social. We did a lab visit of Taormina this morning and now we are getting ready for the science. We are presenting 4 different projects here, from hippocampal growth cones to MEC development to (obviously!!) Cajal-Retzius cells!
Yes, should be doable. Our tech just washes tissue many times before starting DNA extraction to avoid any fixative. We did it few times and always worked.
I am looking for a postdoc with an immunology background interested in joining a Yale neuroscience lab to study how the brain controls immunity. At Yale, we have a wonderful interdisciplinary & collaborative #neuroimmune community. Please reach out or share with anyone who might be interested!
An in-house collaboration between the #QuattrocoloLab and the #NigroLab. Beautiful images and very interesting data collected.
It was an absolute honor and pleasure to host today Ileana Hanganu-Opatz for our seminar series. Her work is super inspiring and she was the best guest! @kavlintnu.bsky.social #neuroskyence

It was a real pleasure to host Dr. Huganir @rhuganir.bsky.social today at the @kavlintnu.bsky.social for our seminar series. His work is always groundbreaking and inspirational!
I love this series of articles on @dev-journal.bsky.social! It was an honor to be interviewed for it. #QuattrocoloLab @kavlintnu.bsky.social
The initial CR cell density and the rate of their disappearance varies substantially across different brain areas during development. It turns out the hippocampus is not the only region where these cells survive for a long time! Where else do they stay? (No spoilers..just check out the paper!)
We applied a new labeling strategy to investigate the distribution and persistence of #Cajal-Retzius cells throughout the whole mouse brain, at four different postnatal ages. (Huge thanks to Rob Machold, at NYU, for the awesome mouse line!) 2/3
So happy to share the second manuscript of the #QuattrocoloLab. This was a side project of a fantastic PhD student, Kristian Moan, that saw something cool in his data and presented it in our annual lab retreat in 2024. Now the whole story sees the light of day. 1/3
The second annual retreat of the #QuattrocoloLab is over. As usual, I was blown away by the presentations and I have so much to think about now!! So many new ideas to test! Thanks to everybody for making it so special.
Congratulations Alicia!
Congratulations @hjerling-leffler.bsky.social !
Here is a flyer to print or email. Thank you very much!
We are still taking applications!
Sure..thatβs how I call it too π
Thanks! You too!
You too guys!
The gang is back together. Our Christmas is safe! @maxnigro.bsky.social
This is absolutely fantastic work!
I agree with everything! I try to cultivate and promote this in the #QuattrocoloLab. And perhaps this is also why I love to study development: it has rooms for all these subfields. But sometimes it is also harder when you donβt perfectly fit in any category.
