What a mood! I wish I had advice.

I love her! She reminds me of a paladin I played in my first DnD campaign long ago.
Those little easy-peel oranges. Mandarins? Tangerines? Whatever tf they are. I usually have one midmorning at work and it helps me wake up.
I love that the shape of the head is a little horsey, and the feathers form a sort of mane. The creature parts are beautifully integrated!
She also called me to ask how to change the nib on her stylus and I was like BRO.
I feel like with my coworker, some part of it has got to be willful.
Weβre photo editors. She started out retouching film negatives. Sheβs used Photoshop *since the first version.*
She doesnβt understand layers, or masks, or βsave a copy.β
Itβs infuriating.
I went over to my Boomer coworkerβs house to set her up to work from home. She literally doesnβt know how to do ANYTHING. Check email, take a screenshot, find a program unless it already has a shortcut on her desktop. Iβm trying to be nice because one day I, too, will be old and lost.
Honestly itβs a miracle this place is still functional. Apparently sales are good. I still have plenty of projects. The servers and the systems they support are limping along. It just seems like everyone except me is redlining all the time.
I just want to listen to audiobooks and paint.
But everythingβs been nuts since the previous owner died with no transition plan, and itβs gotten worse since all our servers decided to misbehave.
Our staff is also mostly composed of various flavors of weirdos and sensitive, eccentric personalities who donβt handle change well.
This should not be a stressful work environment. There are no physically dangerous positions (unless youβre a dumbass around forklifts and chemicals). We just print the pretty pictures (and embellish, frame, and ship them). We donβt do anything critical.
My manager just admitted that when he comes to βcheck inβ with me he really just wants to sit down in a quiet space near a calm person for a few minutes π yβall pray for the rest of my office.
An illustrated portrait of a male Qunari from Dragon Age: Inquisition. He has dark gray skin, inward-curving horns, a short Mohawk, and pointed little ears. He looks rough but good-natured.
My Qunari Inky, Rhidaan!
This is my Week 5 homework for @sylessae.bsky.social βs Portrait Drawing Bootcamp, and Iβm definitely feeling the results of sustained, systematic study πͺ
Also Iβd be fine with never drawing horns again, lol

This goes for American comics, too. Take what you think they make, halve it, then halve it again. And if they aren't working for the Big Two, halve it again. And to be brutally honest, if they're writing and drawing graphic novels, halve it yet again.
One thing that changed my linework approach was Tim McBurnieβs sepia-toned sketching layer setup, which he outlines in this video. youtu.be/-Ogu54fMvK4
Itβs a bit cumbersome for more complex drawings on my iPad, but you canβt beat the results. Line color is varied and lively.
A closeup of the drawing in the above post, showing the characterβs right ear, eye, and jaw. The sepia-toned pencil lines are rough and scratchy.
Somehow it winds up looking *more polished* over all, even though up close you can see all the wobbles and eraser ghosts. It also feels more warm and natural.
A pencil-style line art portrait of a male Qunari from Dragon Age.
I love it when I get compliments on my linework. Itβs something I didnβt feel confident about for so long.
I used to do very fussy clean inks over a few chaotic sketch layers. But honestly, I get nicer results by using one pencil on one layer, erasing what I donβt need and building up what I do.

My community choir is singing this in concert next month. I will never ever get tired of it π
Please donβt make me draw horns, Ivy π
I just want to spend the entire day cuddling my cat and giving him little kisses on the top of his head - IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK?!? Why isn't that a job?
I bet ai can't kiss the top of my cat's head

These are AMAZING design elements to be so FREE.

Heβs still pretty cute, but I miss the tinyness π§‘
A small orange kitten, around 6-8 weeks old, is playing in a rumpled brown blanket on a bed.
Husband just found this old picture of Quark when he was a TINY BABY KITTEN.
This lovely jewelry collective will be hosting what we lovingly call QueerVC in an hour. First come first serve listings of gorgeous and reasonably priced sterling silver and gemstone pieces. Give yourself a lil treat to get through the worst timeline and help them get back on the road.

A linework-only illustration of a male Qunari, a large humanoid with pointed ears and curved horns. He looks rough but good-natured, with a short Mohawk, a 5-oβclock shadow, light facial scars, and pretty eyes and brows.
Pretty darn excited about this linework for my new DAI Inquisitor. Letβs hope I still like it after coloring and rendering!

Iβm not even a Resident Evil fan, but I started watching a playthrough of RE9 because of all the Grace vs Leon memes. Itβs BRILLIANT. I love how the same game feels completely different depending on the main characterβs perspective.
*hope I donβt have nightmares*
I love her little black-soled paws, too!
