This is extremely true and I continue to think that some part of it is deep, semi-conscious shame & embarrassment. If he's an absolute moron, what does it say about us that we let him get this far? They're stuck in the bluff with him.

One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.
Obama for America v. Husted was one of the biggest voting rights cases of the cycle
Jon Husted is new to the Senate but he's been on my radar since 2012, when I was an intern at DNC Voter Protection and Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted was the biggest voting rights villain in the country
The Cubs? nah
Oh? I’ve been in a coma since 2014, did something happen
Hard to imagine a legitimate military operation where “lethality” is itself the goal. Killing is part of war, but it’s not the *purpose* of war…unless you have hopelessly deranged people in charge
I'm speaking on a @lcv.org webinar TONIGHT at 6:30 ET (soon!) on protecting voting rights from MAGA attacks. Come join us! Free to attend.
And we have a president who sells out everything to big tech. We really should have pokemon gone to the polls
Everything is so creepy all the time
Speaker of the House is number one on the list of people whose job it is to prevent the president from conducting an illegal war, but this is Mike Johnson, so: lol
Trump's most enduring legacy, other than the deaths of millions of innocent people, will be that nobody can trust the United States government's word. That has profound implications for every area of public policy, and we're only scratching the surface of the harm.
Go Amy!! @dcvote.bsky.social is leading the fight for DC statehood to bring democracy to the 700,000 people of the nation's (military-occupied) capital. I'm so excited they're ramping up.
Imagine the reaction if Biden had appointed the College Dems president to help run the Air Force Academy
John Roberts did this. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
the market’s willingness to ignore massive chaos over the past year has consistently defied my expectations, and yet…gas prices
Trump was never serious about fighting antisemitism and Jewish America never believed him
This particular kind of AI nonsense is downstream of a cultural shift away from meaningful thoughts toward superficially compelling Content. Not coincidentally, AI boosters love Trump.
Surely the President’s task force on antisemitism will be looking into this pronto to figure out how this could have happened.
Correction: the better joke would have been “and they’re all in march”
Groundhog Month
DC has four seasons: summer, fall, whatever this is, and cherry blossoms
The Trump DOJ gave Ticketmaster a sweetheart deal that keeps their monopoly intact & does nothing to stop their ridiculously high prices & fees.
The deal was so good, their stock price jumped 6.2% after the news broke.
Once again: Trump's putting corporations over consumers.
There’s always money and attention for people who say Dems should move to the center to win and do very little with power except defend the status quo from Republicans.
But that’s not actually what voters want. It’s just what big donors and media executives want.
Feels less like a reason for you to be embarrassed and more like a reason for Society to be embarrassed at this stuff having been straight white male clubs for so long
The correct terms for this whole process are political purges and illegal rescission.
But Trump officials (including Elon Musk) say “efficiency” and “private sector” and “waste, fraud, abuse,” and a lot of people—including much of the press—buy it. At least enough to miss the unsubtle big picture.
One job AI can already do is write lazy op-eds about how long-dead white guys would have shared Fox viewers' cultural disdain for Americans who live in cities
It might seem weird for WaPo to run conservative-intellectual madlibs one week after the US launched a massive war in the Middle East, but remember WaPo laid off all their Middle East correspondents last month
The Christian nationalist Republicans who feel comfortable saying this about Muslims in public undoubtedly say it about Jews in private too. www.huffpost.com/entry/andy-o...
Is it bad if big business spies on you for the purpose of charging you more money than other people pay?
