be really careful for the next few weeks. My review appt is April 17th, when I will find out about the planned sinus surgery.
I DO NOT need #Covid on top of all this other 💩 going on. 😬
#MaskUp
(2/2)
One of the unjoys of having a really bad bacterial infection of the sinuses and nasal cavity is I find wearing a mask, which I have done since March 1, 2020, really difficult as my breathing is not great at the moment while I recover.
I'm worried about it, but not much I can do other than

I'm not in that situation, thankfully, but without my biologic meds for the arthritic conditions I'm be in pretty rough shape. Definitely would have mobility issues, big time. Yet here I am, thanks to medical science, as fit as most 50 year-olds.
My watch does my O² sat, I have a BP machine and of course a thermometer. So, like you, I'm pretty covered.
With this particular infection I had no temp until the last stage: 38.8⁰ it got to. Bit high when my normal is 36.4⁰
Mind you even then it fluctuated - my body was fighting back!
It is fantastic, David! 💃💃
(3/3) No, a smartwatch is not a clinical device, but it does provide indicative information than can be useful.
I've been so orange for so long.....
Thursday, the day I was hospitalised. All orange.
So far today - all blue while I slept.
(2/3) I will write a proper article about this shortly, but at the moment still getting back to normal.
Just for a very quick comparison, here are 2 Garmin physiological stress graphs. Left: the day I was hospitalised. Right: so far today. Blue is REST, orange is body under stress.
Stunned, I am!
Best night of sleep in about 2 years now we have this nasal cavity/sinus bacterial infection under control.
Absolutely amazing!
My advice after this saga? Don't assume nasal stuff is "just hayfever" because maybe it isn't, especially if immunocompromised!

I haven't been great lately.
Coincidentally, it was months since I'd had a B12 injection.
Had one this week, and wow, talk about a difference.
I don't know how many times I need to relearn this lesson.
B12 does help with my ME/CFS.
If you need a reason to do whatever you can to avoid COVID, here’s about a half million of them…take your pick.

I'm a bit speechless -- you are all the more remarkable for having emerged a strong, capable person and advocate from such a tragic childhood.
If there's an afterlife, there's a harsh place in it for that foster father & those like him.
Totally with you on that.
We need these issues highlighted.
My last week: referred to ENT Tuesday, picked up a cancellation spot Thurday, sent straight to major public hospital, treated, home yesterday. Surgery pending.
In a regional area? That would not have been possible.
Thank you for your kind words. 🤗
What interests me now is the epigenetics possibilities. For all 3 of us.
Just reiterating, he DID NOT get what he wanted.
What worried me in later years was how many foster children had he abused over the years? Ones not strong enough to reject him? He didn't fight my rejection, thankfully, but I think he saw that would not have been an enjoyable experience for him!
It's very sad. I'm glad I do not live in the US, frankly.
It's a very real problem: Healthcare professionals are too few across the board 🗺 specialists are worse, esp for less common illnesses, and esp outside of major cities/urban areas... A compounded problem 😣

2 foster families.
Brother similar, just one less foster family.
I did start in a foster family (16 by then) until the foster father hit on me. Even then I was strong enough to say FO and organised my freedom.
My more personal retaliation was to sleep with his son.
And I should do an update because since then both my siblings (adopted, not genetic) have died in their early 60s of lung cancer metastasized to brain cancer. Epigenetics links childhood trauma to later changes in gene expression. Interesting field. My sis: natural parents, adoptive parents, then
I'm pretty sure you've read this, but for anyone else following along....
3 part series.
PLUS they didn't give me one that wasn't charted because the Dr who did the charting originally said it didn't need to be charted, so comms breakdown somewhere.
I'll take it when I get home. 🙄
Last night was my my first night in 2 years my nose didn't block and wake me up! 💃💃
Discharge just confirmed by Dr! I'm going home!
Yay!
Will be busy morning, pharmacist to visit me, get cannula out, pack, etc etc.
Home!!!!!
Clinic appt in about a month to plan the surgery.
On the last night in hospital they took away my meds, then this morning the meds were 1.5 hours late
No, Lars. Nor children.
When I was a child, my Dad did it all, mother never participated.
Very much so!
