i still have no fun answer to 'how'd you break your ankle?' beyond 'eating dinner while diabetic,' though, so maybe that bit will get better in the months to come. two months! eight weeks! i will be counting down.

okay gang here's the skinny β two months (?) of booted behavior with accompanying physical therapy in a month. i definitely split the ankle but didn't screw it up THAT badly...yet. i am losing my mind though, it is SO nice outside...
a blurry tablet photo of the poster, a mid 30s cis white man, from midchest down, wearing a grey vneck and v short black running shorts showing a large part of his large thigh. most of the photo is milo, an orange and white creamsicle house cat, curled up and sleeping on the poster's lap.
doctor what do you know about purr therapy
weβre medical diviners, vibing our way to health
does it help? no. but it makes me FEEL like iβm making a difference and thatβs all that matters.
this is not helpful i know but it does give me things to do
one week in, weβre at the βfinding signs and portents in everything everywhereβ phase of my broken ankle recovery process
peeled a grapefruit in one go, no breaks? the recovery will be quicker i think
screw up my pourover, spilling grounds everywhere? the recovery will never end
i couldnβt remember the nationality ben i promise i wasnβt trying to erase germany
a zoomed in shot of a bay window, the space in front of which is filled by a yellow love seat (floydβs of detroit). milo, a svelte orange and white creamsicle house cat, is sitting on the right rear cushion, riveted by whatever is happening outside in the barely viewable parking lot. the left and right side of two different parked cars are viewable through a half open window, with a screen in place. a red pillow rests on the right side of the couch and a red white and black pattern knit afghan blanket sits on the left.
at the very least, milo thinks so
i opened a window today and honestly those 'house burping' people might be on to something, y'all
a photo of the poster, a mid30s cis white man with close cut brown hair, looking down at his chest while seated in a brick courtyard full of flowers. a set of stairs leads up to an unseen second floor to the right rear, and a pair of houses sits to the left. he is wearing a floral romper with several real flowers popping out of the left chest pocket, and a pair of brown sunglasses hangs from the center button row.
i even celebrated a birthday there a few years back! i <3 bow market.
bow market is an incredible local hub -- a mix of permanent spots and startup slots that serve as a business incubator. i love it, and hope more spots like it can thrive. zoning is hard! but it doesn't have to be.
l o v e d this, well done!
'what we really need is one of these triple-digit billionaires to give us a billion dollars.'
no shit, sir.
of course vital to point out the moving, powerful podcast from antonio's aunt (and my friend and former colleague) tonya mosley, "she has a name"
beautiful read on the work that went into finding antonio wiley's mother in detroit
how truly cool that somebody made a documentary about the music critic robert christagu, a real icon and legend. great intw. w/ the doc's director here.
too true thank you
i mean, fair
i need a less blunt answer to 'how are you feeling? how's the ankle?' than my current 'not great, still broken!'
i wish it were a sexier more interesting break but βi had dinner and then somehow in a hypoglycemic blackout broke my ankleβ is not as fun as i want it to be
i lost my mind running all winter this year but i knew βsoon, it will feel niceβ and now soon is a LOT farther away than i expected
knowing that it is warming up and sunny outside and i cannot run for weeks now is maybe the worst thing about breaking an ankle. that, and the pain of a thousand knives.
emily is speaking hard truths out here
for npr news, iβm browwyn caugh

and before you yell at me about disrespecting this epic, i developed and produced an entire rewatch podcast devoted to this show, so
look he also features in βthe man who killed hitler and then the bigfootβ we cannot forget that
