Snippet of a jayvik fanfiction WIP: Hi.β Viktor blinks up from his phone screen at the man standing before him, a warm pair of amber eyes shining beneath the wide brim of a tan Stetson hat. βHello.β The man shakes his charming smile back onto his face and it's only then that Viktor noticed its absence when they looked at each other. βThis dance is great for beginners. I can explain it as we go. Want to join me?β He does. Viktor hesitates in his seat. The beat pulsing around him tells him he has only a few moments to give an answer before the man moves on. Saying no could make him seem unfun or judgmental, or deter the man from approaching him again. Saying yes would reveal Viktorβs terrible case of two left feet, the least of his many diagnoses but one of the more problematic ones in this specific space. Has this man noticed his mobility device? Viktor is caught in the bouncing lights, indecisive and scared. βBring your cane.β Viktorβs heart swells and he nods in instantaneous agreement. He eases himself to his feet and follows the cowboy to the dance floor.
