I make the rules around here so tonight is pizza night even though last night was pizza night
If my bank started commenting on my spending habits Iβd close my accounts that very same day
I'm not saying that content design for financial products needs to be boring or staid. But it does need to be considerate of the fact that money is a sensitive subject for people. Some of the microcopy in here is...almost cruel.

Popped to my local spring near Pinoso on a rather dull & cold morning & was pleased to see my friendly Bluethroat was still present. He will be headed north soon. Glad I caught up with him before he left. #birds #birdwatching #birdphotography #BirdsSeenIn2026 #NaturePhotography
In my existence, every day is International Womenβs Day.

Thereβs being interested in crime and Being Interested In Crime, right?
I also once discovered someone I knew had a copy of Huntleyβs birth certificate in their wallet and that was the day I ended that friendship.
The relationship people have with true crime is utterly bizarre.
I watched a documentary about Huntley once. He had a terrible past full of violent crimes that he committed - a long list of victims, and should not have been living in that community.
In my opinion, he should already have been in prison that day Jessica and Holly walked past that house.
Ian Huntley has died after being attacked in prison.
Thereβs questions to ask but right now, let the media focus on his victims: 10 year old best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, and their parents and siblings who must still endure a lifetime of grief. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
Why is womenβs fashion just black, white, grey, brown and pale pink or blue at the moment? Why does everyone look so bland?
I did two big important things in my life admin to-do list today and I feel like a grown up as a result.

"Every uncritical mention of far-right rhetoric is an editorial decision with political consequences. Every headline, every clip, every click adds weight. This is how the line gets crossed."
"And how some media are no longer just covering the far right but helping it speak."
This is after a long stint working in private manufacturing and tech spaces which, I have to tell ya, arenβt it.
Every Saturday, my family went to the local library before doing the big shop at the big Tesco.
Now I work behind the scenes in a library. Funny how these things turn out, isnβt it?

Today is #WorldBookDay and as itβs the #YearOfReading, Iβve been thinking about the books that first inspired my love of reading.
The Hobbit is the first book I read independently as a child.
Apricots at Midnight was a firm favourite, as was The Secret Garden.
