Here's what's happening this month at the Resource Hubs! ❤️
This is a depressing post, so forgive me and feel free to skip it, but my sister overdosed two years ago today. It was devastating, and it's still devastating.
If you can, it would mean a lot to me to support @ppponline.org, who's doing such crucial harm reduction work Philly.
Thank you @panasonicdx4500.bsky.social and everyone who is supporting PPP in honor of their beloved sister. Grief is long and it is not always linear. Thank you for thinking of PPP and our participants during this time.
To spotlight the impact of HIV on Black communities, PPP is hosting a free HIV testing event on Fri, Feb 6 at 12pm in honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is on Feb 7. Anyone who takes an HIV test at PPP on Feb 6 will receive a $10 McDonald’s gift card. All are welcome to join!

PPP is open tomorrow on Monday as a warming center. Clinics will be on pause, as all staff at the main building will pitch in to keep our space warm, welcoming & safe. We'll try to be open during our normal hours 9am-4pm, but ask for a bit of grace as we don't know what the roads will look like.
"The idea that people who use drugs should be treated humanely is the heart of harm reduction. Research shows that the more people participate in harm reduction activities.. the more likely they are to seek traditional forms of recovery. These approaches aren’t linked with increased youth drug use."
Due to the expected winter storm and life-threatening temperatures, PPP's emergency warming center will continue starting tomorrow, Saturday, at 9 p.m. We will be open overnight until Sunday, February 1, at 6 a.m. No one should freeze to death on the streets of our city.
Thanks to Molly, a resident at Philly Home at Girard, for sharing a glimpse into her journey. We're grateful she's a part of our community.
