Exciting day out for Google IT Admin Summit - presenting myself this afternoon.
Huge scandals incoming
Iβm in Budapest with everyone as my brother lives here and itβs his 40th. After a day going around, we split to go back to respective accommodation- and my dad was supposed to get in the opposite direction tramβ¦ Enjoy. Best with sound.
So all this noise about Greenland, as someone pointed out to me, means we are not hearing anything about Trump and Epstein π³π€·ββοΈ

On one hand, in complete agreement that phones destroy many childrenβs youth. A world where they get a break is incredibly important. But not sure on the 6 week timeline. In this world, phones do so much more than communicate.
But, of course, attendance at the school is a choice π€
I know by posting about how much Iβm not interested in something will just push it back out there. But an entitled son and parents falling out is not my idea of news. At any level.
Hmmm. Trump putting my tariffs on countries, including the UK, because they oppose him BUYING a country.
If we donβt stand up to this lunatic now then we deserve all we get.
Parents believe underfunding is the biggest issue facing schools today, with two fifths reporting being asked to contribute to day-to-day running costs, the largest parent survey has found

Worth noting for schools or LAs who are looking at changing MIS. Bromcom have happily bullied schools in the past, but seem to struggle with providing a basic service

The team @secureschools.bsky.social are the best in the biz. This is a must read report.
So many schools duplicating software for no real reason other than piss poor planning or being scared to change fully.
One of the key areas seems to be safeguarding/classroom management/filtering. Unfortunately because the word safeguarding is involved itβs easy to be scared into buying things
Just shy of 13,000 students and teachers migrated into tenancies this summer, and 2,400 devices enrolled into Intune across 20 schools.
Total includes those moving into a central tenant and those fully adopting Intune and 365 for data storage.
Wow, what a week or so for @bromcom.bsky.social with their issues.
Feel for the team supporting, but it shouldnβt even be possible for an outage to go on that long without backup infrastructure or roll backs
Schools should be actively encouraged to have continuity plans for these kind of things.
Question - will it have subtitles or extremely large speakers playing it 24/7?
After migrating some 8,500 thousand users this summer across over 20 schools - the best part is still the training and seeing everyone understand why we helped them move.
Do you wanna take that chance?
