I'm using mixed-case for my mg book bc it's not terribly text-heavy, and i've heard mixed-case can be easier for younger kids to read if theyre not used to seeing uppercase only (but this is just ancedotal)

I'll just echo Taylor about legibility and negative space. The descenders & ascenders tend to crash into each other with mixed-case fonts (even if you leave enough line spacing, sometimes a g & a t will find a way to line up perfectly haha), and that issue goes away with the usage of only uppercase
