Mucky and Muddy to a Brilliant Buggy 🫧🧽🧹✨
Sweeping and sponging away years of dried muck and hay, Team LP wasted no time cleaning the buggy inside and out.
Putting her walker to one side, a member climbed in and did a great job sweeping the deck.

After a successful pilot we are rolling out our weekly supported therapeutic gardening group for people living with young onset dementia at our beautiful Community Gardens.

It warms our heart to speak about the progress this young man has made.
Doing work experience on Saturdays is no easy task.
Working through the winter months, he never shied away from tough but rewarding jobs.
We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this bright and bold young man!
It's been a tough week for our animals, with feathers and fur rarely dry and fresh grass in scarce supply.
Fortunately Team LP came to the rescue with daily deliveries of fresh hay and extra feed for our elderly sheep.
We also bonded with animals, with members coming closer than ever before.
That smile says it all!
Creating collages and paper chains got us in the mood for spring, reminding us of the colour and sunshine soon to be revealed when grey clouds part.
Cleaning to bring spring!
Team LP proudly organised their indoor spaces to create a welcoming environment for members, visitors and staff.
Now we can socialise and work in peace, and we finally know where the big scissors are!
With vital resources from the National Heritage Lottery Fund, we were able to finish paving the path that allows safe access into the historic Community Gardens.
Meanwhile, with the help of new growers bringing a wealth of experience, Team LP got busy sharpening tools and pruning fruit trees.
The overcast skies might have deterred some, but Team LP rose to the challenge.
Step by step, working together with seamless efficiency, they managed to move the fence.
With a few adjustments, everyone at Living Potential is able to learn, grow and work as a team to keep the farm running.
Fantastic effort from Team LP transforming a topsy turvy art room into a organised space for open minds.
It's not just practicing life skills and teamwork, it's clearing mental clutter and changing our environment to bring about a more joyful and creative life.

Learning to Lead 🐾
A game of dog bingo is a fun way to learn about varieties of dog breeds.
Members develop the passion and skills that could lead to working or volunteering with dog rescue services.

Highlights this week include attentive egg inspecting, animal engagement (and amazement!), character-building composting in the cold, and terrific teamwork carrying a trugload of carrots up to our pigs.

We were almost feeling left out without any snow this side of Yorkshire!
Today, the alpaca crew were keeping warm in their shelter, happily feasting on freshly delivered hay.
Earlier this week, the wolf moon (first full moon of January) lent an ethereal beauty to the farm's surroundings.

This week’s highlights feature duck baths, chow time for Kunekunes, and the soon-to-be-viral alpaca, Carter.
We’ll don our raincoats and strap on our work boots, but nothing will stand in our way when it comes to caring for our animals and keeping the farm running smoothly!
We welcomed a lovely group to our natural, sustainable Christmas wreath-making workshop, led by our wonderful volunteer, Claire 💚
Everyone enjoyed creating their own magical wreaths, alongside mulled cider, apple juice, mince pies, and homemade soup.
Not even the Grinch himself could resist!

Yes, the apple juice sold.

Yes, the plum jam and chutney were a hit.

Team LP found that crouching helps Carter to feel at ease and warm up to members this winter.
Studies find that bonding triggers the release of oxytocin - the hormone of love, trust, and all feelings warm and fuzzy - in humans as well as animals.

👨🌾From HOTbeds to HOT chilli! 🌶️
Earlier in the year, Susan and a team of Community Garden volunteers set about creating hotbeds, an ancient growing technique using layers of decomposing organic matter.
Team LP has been reaping the rewards and harvesting the heat of ripe and juicy peppers.
