Achimenes 'Dot'
All three plants together
Three achimenes currently in flower. The A. erecta 'tiny red' was grown from seed originally and survived a complete fungal collapse as a few leaf cuttings, only to now end up as a volunteer in other pots

Please excuse this poor quality photograph of my Stelis emarginata in nearly full bloom
Anyway, back to plants
Is it because it's the most obviously run-down, neglected part of the constituency? Is that where they assume the 'idiot racists' live?
There's an awful lot of supposed leftists and anti-brexit centrists on here calling everyone in Runcorn (which, I remind you, is only one town of a few in the constituency) 'thick racists' and it REEKS of classism. It's so incredibly depressing. The huge Reform placards I saw were NOT in Runcorn.
a shaded flower with eight white petals, seen from below. there is a large light green ovary in the center of the flower with a broad, bumpy-looking yellow stigma. over a dozen stamens with stout yellow anthers surround the ovary.
the same flower seen from the side & a bit further back. the white petals cup forwards slightly and the whole flower is gently nodding. in the center of the flower there is a massive green ovary capped with a large yellow stigma & surrounded by thick yellow anthers. the flower's reddish stem grows from the angle between two branching leaf stems.
a colony of mayapples growing across the forest floor. each leaf stands about a foot or so tall & is wide & umbrella-like, but with 4+ deep lobes. flowering stems have two leaves, and the flower grows from where they branch.
