ICE agents reveal daily arrest quotas and surveillance app in rare court testimony
Under oath, officers said they were told to make eight arrests a day and given special tech to help choose ‘targets’
When a federal judge (finally) put ICE officers under oath, they admitted that they are given daily detention quotas and rely heavily on a Palantir-supplied AI tool to select targets, without warrants and without enough evidence to obtain one. They simply go into neighborhoods and round people up.

Well a good start would be significantly reducing the defense budget, no? (I understand the tension between this suggestion and the fact that we’re in a war right now.)

I say the rich start paying 98% taxes on ANY assets over $99.9 million or we might as well go the French Revolution route because we're in excess of the wealth inequity and irresponsible government that helped spur THAT into motion.

it's not just going to be serious debt people, tbh, like, it is actually going to a capital P problem by the time a dem takes office, not a made-up one, and anyone running for office this year or in two years is going to have to be part of a solution, we actually *can't* kick the can much further

ALT: a man with a red beard is holding a trash can with the words ha ha written on it
Looked through job listings after paying a pending bill, which was fun seeing my account drain that much more and there being fuck-all in the way of employment opportunities that are less strenuous and I can qualify for which don't pay less. Just really depressed now, not that I wasn't before... 😮💨

I feel bad for the average Russian who didn't have the money and timing to get out of the Muscovite regime's territory but that is also conditional on if they have and still do support the leadership and its actions in Ukraine and beyond.

Krasnov and crew need to be dragged before the Hague or an American tribunal with no pardons, no parole and the customary Nuremberg Prizes for Character (or rather lack thereof) to be carried out immediately thereafter.

Trump Pressure Intensifying To Bypass Filibuster Over Anti-Trans, Voter Disenfranchisement Bill
Analysts say Republicans are "a few votes shy" from successfully bypassing the filibuster, but Senator Cornyn's flip combined with anti-transgender demands make this fight worth paying attention to.
1. Pressure is intensifying from Trump to bypass the filibuster over anti-trans and voter disenfranchisement provisions.
Cornyn, one of the biggest historical Republican supporters of the filibuster, has now flipped on it.
Thune still says he doesn't have the votes to do so.
My latest story.

Fig. 1.Overview and examples of axial sinks. (A) Illustration of the distinction between axial and terminal sinks using Arabidopsis as an example. Enlargement of the root illustrates different stages of lateral root development. (B) Illustration of an example of regulation of axial sink strength by environmental cues: eliciting the shade avoidance response by manipulation of the light spectrum causes elongation of petioles, and is at the expense of hypocotyl/root tuber growth of radishes. I'm in a really dark mindset right now. I'm depressed, anxious, and lonely; but I'm also sitting on a lot of rage at the world as it is... I'm tired of everything.
I don't know what to do because I don't want to live like this anymore. I feel like there's nothing left to look forward to...
