I succeeded in a small task. The light over my stove was halogen and got SO HOT the inside of the microwave above it was warm inside if we left it on too long. After several visits to hardware stores, I found an LED equivalent. I am a genius, a maverick, a hero.

i say this to my students a lot and am always surprised when they find it discouraging rather than exciting. no one cares as much as you do whether you write that book! you can write it however you want!
