Luxon left NZ in 1995 and was overseas through a period of massive change in our society. He wasnβt around during the Shipley and Clark years. The lens through which his understanding of NZ is based are those of the 1980s. Thatβs why he is clueless on many issues. He also DIM and incurious. #nzpol

I show up to your house. The wiring is a mess. The last guy was clearly a complete cowboy; sparks everywhere, charred power sockets, brownouts, the lot. "Don't worry, I'm not an electrician!" I smile while throwing a double thumbs-up. I proceed to put on my snorkel and grab my parasol...

Those Polls, That War and the Return of Inflation
Podcast Episode Β· Cross Party Lines Β· 9 March Β· 46m
Recommend. Love this weekly podcast Cross Party Lines. The combination of 2 experienced politicians from both sides of divide. Donβt have to agree but find my perspective widened.
This week was particularly interesting contribution by Phil Goff from foreign affairs perspective - real gold. #nzpol

I'm actually very excited about this, as the Visitor From Hawke's Bay. I used to love having the library as a base as it is central, had areas to chill out in, and a cafe.
Will it give Εtautahi's TΕ«ranga a run for its money??? πππ

And now fleeing off to Samoa during a fuel crisis (how much will Luxon use up on this junket) in the middle of an international oil crisis. To pick up a fake Matai title.
Why?

Paul Goldsmith dismisses advice, makes illegal appointments with impunity.
Each time NZ media let him get away with it it emboldens him.
I met him years ago, he was nothing like this unaccountable vile arrogant person.

Your daily walk matters in more ways than you think
If you want stronger lifts and more efficient movement, donβt overlook the one activity you already perform most.
A walk really does make a big difference & we need to build up stamina to kick Luxon, Peters and Seymour to the kerb.
We will be flooded with info, propaganda & lies. A daily at least 1/2 hour walk is a circuit breaker. Kia kaha! #nzpol

I cannot tell you how much my respect would go up for Luxon and National if they recognised the new situation and went all out for domestic solar and renewables now.
There is political cover from the middle east energy shock
It's only really ego and insecurity that stands in the way. #nzpol

Increasing talk here that Methanex will leave. Hip hip hooray. They use c45% of gas supply, pay almost no tax in this country, are a blight on the landscape, work to 1980s environmental standards - all for just 150 local jobs. www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3609...

The Cult Of C'thulhu does not count social profit. This measures the total benefit of public expenditure. Countries and their governments are corporations - attempts to run them as such always fail.

World Energy Outlook 2024 β Analysis - IEA
World Energy Outlook 2024 - Analysis and key findings. A report by the International Energy Agency.
π§΅3
IEA was organisation NZ has belonged to that Shane Jones quoted in π§΅1 . They through member countries have just released oil into the market.
This is the advice they gave Jones & Coalition in 2024.
He & Coalition should have been encouraging/implementing clean energy alternatives. #nzpol
