Ooooh, I'm going to get around to this..
Yes! When I tell beginners I like their work, they think I'm just blowing smoke, but I genuinely find ppls artistic choices interesting, even when they aren't "classically" trained.

The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever.
It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.
"I don't do politics" Because the news upsets me. Because I'm trying to "keep things positive!" Because it's bad for my mental health. Because I don't have time. Because I don't have energy. Because I don't want to offend you. Because it doesn't affect me. Because I have enough on my plate. Because I can see them coming, outside my window, I can see them coming, but they're not coming for me. Alex Dawson

A grid of three images, with two on top and one across the bottom, all depicting queer Filipino people. Top-left: two women are about to kiss, dressed in soft white and orange, one of which is wearing more masculine traditional clothing. Top-right: two Igorot warriors are kissing in front of a brightly lit sky, a rainbow framing the top of the image. Both wear traditional Indigenous clothing styles. Bottom: two characters, one transmasc and one transfemme, stand in front of a mirror together, their reflections showing their desired gender presentations as they try on different clothing styles. Another character sits nearby, watching them, while also casually holding a rifle as they plan a revolution.
From queer revolutionaries to Indigenous warriors, hereβs a sneak peek into the Filipino queer history celebrated in the "We've Always Been Here" zine! π΅π

A work-in-progress drawing in iron gall ink in a style evocative of medieval manuscripts. A bearded man holds a bow in one hand and a smoking arrow in the other hand. The page is ornamented with oak leaves.
A selection from the Luttrell Psalter (1330s) featuring an archer.
Drawing my D&D ranger in the style of this archer from the Lutrell Psalter cuz I have been practicing Drawing For Fun this week (after rapid finishing like 4 huge projects between Jan/Feb and feeling dead inside for two days π).
probably my favorite illustration I did for Scholar's Codex, for the Elden Ring section @tuneandfairweather.bsky.social

A google maps view of the area around the Strait of Hormuz, with crude markup showing the 4 steps to successfully clearing the strait: 1. Build up speed 2. Hit Trampoline 3. Cool backflip 4. Nail the landing The boat is illustrated using a clip art yacht, and the trampoline is also just kind of floating there.
wait. wait. everyone hold on. i've solved it

A loose soft pastel drawing of a long haired grey cat. It looks upwards, its face hit with a warm light that streams upwards, with long white whiskers. Golden light illuminates the chin.

These people cant do NOTHING on their own but Black people get so much pushback when we say that this WE built this country and made it rich. 2026 and these people still cant do the actual work.
They really think we're stupid. They truly believe that if they just "explain it differently" we'll be fine with them stealing our work and giving us mindless jobs that pay peanuts.
Detail from AFTERNOON SHADOWS featuring a redheaded woman in a white dress standing in the ivy covered ruins of an abbey. She holds her hand palm up as if releasing a stream of butterflies that wind upwards in an S-shaped curve.
Close detail from AFTERNOON SHADOWS featuring a woman in a white gown with a lavender sash tied at her waist. Her hair is red and short which contrasts the tall ruined wall of the abbey in front of her that is now overgrown with ivy. Through breaks in the wall we can see the calm sea but the sky over the horizon is gray with hints of orange. Above a thick cloud layer the sky is blue and bright, providing a different outlook depending on where you look. Her head is turned to the side level with the horizon as sunlight casts long shadows past her in the abbey.
We erect monumental structures in an attempt to outlast the progress of the ages, but everything must pass in the end, whether it be the fleeting lives of butterflies or slow erosion of edifices of stone. 2/2

The press called Betty Shabazz, Coretta Scott King, and Myrlie Evers "the widows." Between them, they held six degrees, ran three national institutions, raised sixteen children alone, and spent a combined sixty years fighting for justice their husbands didn't live to see.

Lolll. It does not seem like a terribly active place yet
Something I wrote during βthe reckoningβ that feels relevant here:
βGood white peopleβ are still white people
even if they forget,
or want you to forget,
that they are white people.

A nine panel comic strip following two figures as they traverse a barren and desolate landscape - their journey takes them through ruins and abandoned structures of a former civilisation - we realise that this was once our world and the destruction is the result of a massive global war - we also learn that these ruins and wastelands are the home and country of the victors in the war! The strip is titled Deadsun.

That's a good idea, if only to get the username you want. It doesn't seem super active over there yet, so it seems like a good time to get in!
