Ah that makes sense. The images I've seen certainly support that too. Sounds excellent. Glad you got to experience it.
You may have answered this in the piece Graham, but did you see him on the American Utopia tour? The deconstructed format sounds very similar, a show I found equally incredible.
NEW ISSUE OUT NOW! Weβre marking the return of CABARET VOLTAIRE with this monthβs cover story and bundling the mag with the first physical release by the reformed band, a green vinyl seven-inch with two live tracks, including βNag Nag Nagβ. Order now at electronicsound.squarespace.com/shop/magazine
Love that album, but haven't listened to it in ages. I'll have to dig it back out x
Unbelievable Rob. Those little things we take for granted presented as the most luxurious experiences on earth, even if only for a moment. I just can't imagine it. Thanks for sharing x
Absolutely Ant. Finished it over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Didn't agree with every assessment put forward of his work, but respected the points of view. And as you say, I certainly welcomed some of the reminders of those forgotten moments :)x
We'd avoided most reviews, but had an expecptation based on the trailers we'd seen. Also Jessie Buckley appears unable to do anything wrong at present so felt on safe ground. Definitely worth the trip for us x
Film poster for The Bride!
Just back from another cinema two for the price of one trip and really enjoyed this.
Jessie Buckley was mesmerising throughout, with Hildur GuΓ°nadΓ³ttir's score adding an additional layer of atmosphere and emotion that I hadn't been expecting.
Overall, a lot of fun.

I'm sixty today, and weirdly I've never been happier. So my gift to YOU is my best work, with artwork by the amazing @happytoast.co.uk
It would make for a lovely present if you'd have a listen, ideal for driving, or some light dusting. xx

Here's to the next 24 Gideon. Thanks for all the music recommendations, the huge support for the indies and the inspiration x
@danmud.bsky.social If I'm correct its a milestone birthday for you today. Have a wonderful day, month, year celebrating. Best wishes. Px
A little distraction from the news to start the day.
Here's that moment David Bowie appeared in an advert for Vittel interacting with a number of versions of his former self π€x

Nice to hear you say that. It felt like a director's love letter and completely agree about how fast it seemed to zip by. Just wonderful story telling x
Film poster for Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro
Given its many Oscar nominations we thought we should finally get around to watching this.
Thought it was excellent. The costume design was incredible and added so much to the narrative. A really great adaptation by Del Toro. Just wished we'd seen it on the big screen.
A solid βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ from us x
I read that piece earlier today and loved it. Have to say I'm incredibly flattered to hear you mention 52 Albums To Shape A Soul alongside it. Thank you π x
Evoking the personal stories woven through @lippykidmusic.bsky.socialβs β52 Albums To Shape A Soulβ series, this article by @grindrod.bsky.social in @thequietus.com is a brilliant read; as an aside it even mentions βSongβ by #ItsImmaterial (one of my favourite LPs) & the glorious #FrazierChorus!
Just seen Harry Styles BRIT awards performance. Where have I been hiding. That was excellent x
Best of wishes Bill. For day 1 and every day that follows x
Yes. I don't think you have to be a huge fan of Paul McCartney or Wings to have been moved by the obvious love they held for each other x
Its on my list. I recently read Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run by Paul McCartney which I believe provides much of the source for the documentary. I thought it was excellent and possibly the quickest I've read a book in ages x
Couldn't agree more x
Album covers for Venus And Mars, Wings At The Speed Of Sound and London Town, all by Wings, lay on top of record player
Sunday vibes...
I confess whenever I hear Paul and Linda together on record I can't help but feel slightly emotional. I suspect I always will x

Electronic music is a genre that was started and shaped by women, so on International Women's Day, here are some Bandcamp recommendations for women making some of the best electronic music you can get today. π§΅
In honour of #InternationalWomensDay , these are some of my favourite films directed by women. Trailblazers, visionaries and powerful agents for change and awareness - I love them all and there are so many more to seeβ¦ #FilmSky β€οΈπ

Its a wonderful place inside and out. Along with The Britons Protection I feel they're two Manchester pubs that require protecting at all costs x
The same table football game is still there. Apparently made by a Salford company and now only one of three anywhere in the world x
Its excellent. Still my favourite pub in MCR β€οΈx
