Re-upping this article in the Guardian Oz, about my research into the extreme harm being caused by Wes Streeting's puberty-blocker ban.
UK mainstream media has collectively ignored my research (as I expected) but not the Guardian Australia.
Needless the UK and US Guardian's didn't share it.

Trans scholars being ‘pushed out of academia’, researchers warn – Times Higher Education
Both of FGEN’s Co Chairs sat down to talk with journalist Emily Dixon about being trans in academia and how recent events such as the Supreme Court and the OfS fine on Sussex University have affected the environment. https://archive.is/oYqXS
This is one reason that FGEN is more important than ever, Both of our co chairs @natacha.bsky.social and @parkesland.bsky.social were interviewed for this article. We've been quiet publically for the last few months, but we have been busy in the background more news in the new year.
My critical analysis of the anti-trans astroturf group, the LGB Alliance, has just been published in the special edition of the Bulletin of Applied Transgender Studies. I recommend the whole special edition - it's open access, no pay wall.

🗣️ 65% of trans adults reported verbal abuse in public spaces
👊 24% said they have suffered physical violence
A new YouGov poll reveals safety crisis for trans people in the UK:

Labour must counter 'growing sense of despair', Streeting warns after Welsh defeat.
Has Streeting EVER said ANYTHING that isn't hypocritical in the extreme?
He's created such despair for trans kids that they are self-harming, starving themselves, not drinking & dying by suicide.
If he genuinely wanted to end despair, he could do so today.

We all know that the UK as the homeland of extreme transphobic bigotry, but a few rays of light seem to be piercing the stygian darkness of TERF island lately.
The estimable @valorievandieman.bsky.social is Leading Off our week talking UK and Ireland.
In @yougov.co.uk polling of the trans community, to the best of our knowledge the first of its kind ever conducted, an astonishing 84% said Britain is “fairly unsafe” or “very unsafe” for trans people.

🆕️🚨 After painstaking research, dozens of FOIs and months of analysis we release the Gender Clinic Files which reveal waiting times for every GIC in the country.
They lay bare, how far off the mark the Health Secretary's estimation of the average wait is 👇

Evidence‐based medicine has three pillars: (i) appraisal of research evidence, (ii) real‐world clinical expertise, and (iii) individual patient values and preferences. The Review's failures across all three are evident. Clinician and researcher self‐awareness of personal values is essential for evidence‐based medicine practice. Non‐financial conflicts of interest should be disclosed; for example, religious, cultural, and so‐called “gender‐critical” beliefs. The Review acknowledges no such considerations, and does not disclose the positionality of authors.
The new Aussie critique of the Cass Review does not pull its punches about its failures, & makes the point that "gender-critical beliefs" should be declared.
Since transphobes have made so much of having these protected by law, they should be required to declare them.

The Telegraph, which campaigned against the exclusion and silencing of "gender-critical" transphobes is now campaigning for the exclusion and silencing of trans people.
It's just the same story over and over. Anytime a group of doctors take an honest look at the Cass Review they realize it's bunk.
The irony is that Cass and her confederates were convinced they were blowing the lid off a major medical conspiracy to trans kids.
Transphobe physicians heal thyselves.

FGEN Statement on Newnham College Transphobic Fellowship Announcement
On behalf of our membership, the Feminist Gender Equality Network (FGEN) condemns Newnham College for advertising an explicitly trans-exclusionary Research Fellowship Award. https://feministgenderequality.network/fgen-statement-on-newnham-college-transphobic-fellowship-announcement/
We urge all rights-focused orgs to:
❌ Stop working with the EHRC
❌ Reject its guidance
✅ Stand with trans & non-binary communities
Until it serves all citizens, the EHRC serves none.

Email message reading: "Thank you for your email of 20 May. In answer to your question, we will publish a report regarding the consultation responses, following the consultation period. Our report will outline the number of responses received overall and to each question and provide information about qualitative themes across responses. Any information we publish will not reference specific responses from individuals or organisations. Please read our data protection policy for more information: Data protection policy | EHRC. Kind regards"
EHRC have confirmed to me that they will not be publishing the responses to the consultation on their segregation plan. Just a report setting out the number and 'qualitative themes' of responses - allowing them to spin their own narrative with no transparency! Completely unacceptable.
I think it reflects a change in public attitudes. I’m seeing people realising how evil transphobes are with Starmer’s/EHRC’s toilet ban. There is a grassroots level change in attitudes as people realise what the GCs are like, and Fry is reading the room.
All Speakers: For tomorrow's conference, can you give us a quick couple of lines so that our panel chairs can introduce you correctly...
Looking forward to it...
