This is the best part! The next step is to send push notifications to users of a subscribed publication bc it can just piggy back off the firehose. No matter where you choose to write, you can always have your audience.
It's the promise of Atproto for writing.
This is cool!
I just tried this out and it worked on my second try. It got stuck before importing the first time so I just refreshed and retried.
Anyway, to the lay person it may not be clear what's happening or what this does, so let's go over exactly what's going on.
🧵👇️
Hi! I'm not sure. Ghost seems to have RSS support: ghost.org/help/where-c...
All I'm doing is pulling the RSS feed and mapping its fields to standard record fields
Will add, ty!
It's on the roadmap!
👋👋
Do you host a PDS? Do you wanna make it easier for users tool sign into it if they use Heron?
If yes, please drop me a line to the URL for your PDS and an SVG for your app's icon if possible. I'd love to have you on!
It would be nice if the basic spec had some primitives to import a basic subset of html tags for folks bringing their writing from side the atmosphere.
@standard.site 👋 I built an importer to let people import their existing RSS blogs as standard.sit compliant records: heron.tunji.dev/import/writing
One thing I didn't do is fill out the content of the document record as this is often left to whoever wants to extend the lexicon to define.
Hi! Do 🫵 have an existing RSS feed for your blog? Do you want to bring it into the Atmosphere?
I built a tool that imports your blog and adds it to your PDS as a standard site publication, and imports its post as standard site documents!
Check it out here: heron.tunji.dev/import/writing
New Heron release just dropped!
✍️ Standard.site documents now show on profiles. Keep up with your favorite authors!

@heron.tunji.dev is about to become my client of choice once it has @standard.site built in 😍
@heron.tunji.dev feels REALLY nice as an android client if you're bored with the bluesky standard app btw.
Alternatively, if you hit the three dots at the top right of the screen, you can sign in with an app password: bsky.app/settings/app...
Though Oauth is recommended and preferred.
Hi! So sorry about this! Are you using Firefox by any chance? They have a bug on their end causing this. They closed it a few weeks ago, so you may just need to update firefox to get it working: bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi...
I am honored and delighted to announce that my image of two Springboks in a sandstorm that was raging in Namibia's coastal dunes has won the Grand prize of the2026 international Memorial Maria Luisa competition! 🥳🥂🍾

Glad its all sorted out!
@eurosky.social Hi hi! What's the url for logging in to the eurosky pds?
Hmm I'm not sure what may be going on. Can you maybe try signing in with oauth? I'll create a test eurosky account later today to see if I have any issue in the app code
Tap on the bluesky butterfly to expand the options, you should get the globe option then.
You need to set eurosky as your custom server on the login screen. You're getting an error bc you're trying to sign into bluesky with a eurosky account.
Tap the globe to add the eurosky server address. A future update will add a specific eurosky option.
Noted, will take a look!
Yup yup, these are already tracked and on the road map. How has the app's performance been for you? Especially when scrolling the timeline?

Just look at that gorgeous gorget on this Anna’s Hummingbird. Quite a handsome fellow!

Definitely add ozone by @chr.bsky.social! It's in Kotlin multiplatform and what I used to build heron: https://github.com/christiandeange/ozone
The one I built, heron.tunji.dev ☺️
Ty! Please let me know of any feedback you have!
Also you really should check out @nickchillphoto.com feeds! They're so well curated!
Check out this thread to see the beauty of the "you can just do things" mantra of Atproto. Thanks in no small part to @pds.ls which at this point is the unofficial, official atproto debugging tool.
