The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada has learned this morning, Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, that Dr. Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, has passed away due to natural causes.

She was in California as part of her speaking tour in the United States.

Glad to share my work on phylogenetic inference for wee, tiny organisms (or highly diverse): the infered topologies seem largely unaffected by unaccounted recurrent mutations, but branch lengths, and mutation-selection usage biases, are significantly impacted.

Poster summarizing research on adaptive radiation of New Caledonian persimmons. Includes: 27 de-novo genome assemblies and annotations; orthology inference across 30 persimmon genomes; synteny analysis among radiated species; and GO enrichment analyses on duplicated gene families for three species pairs, including one adapted to heavy metal–rich soils.
