Our next book! I designed the cover.
I’m really excited for this one. It’s really good.

This is also why engaging with comments is pointless, as is pretending that "outrage" as measured in comments is a useful metric. Yet all of the algorithms are still designed to measure engagement this way, and using these signals to serve you (mis) information.
Indeed. That’s where I first watched it.
Spaced and Black Books are both pretty great!
Life on Mars (the UK version). Such a great show.
They usually do these casting announcements well after the production has ended or is well underway. You see it a lot with television.
Nathan Fillion has been filming short videos with his fellow cast members from Firefly, teasing some sort of announcement for March 15th, when they have a big panel at Awesome Con.
So, I'm going to engage in some wild speculation and run down some options. Here's what I came up with:
Gah. *one of the
It was also a lot of fun to drive! I took my grandmother for a ride and she was amazed at how quiet it was.
What are the stories that got away from me years ago was about how the bolt was a super boring car and how that was probably a good thing for it.
Listening to this, I’m sort of thinking of ideas for more Parker stories.

Yeah, Jeff Hays did great.
THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!
Four soldiers carrying a stretcher
Enjoyed the hell out of War Machine. A bunch of Ranger trainees are wrapping up their training when they’re attacked by an alien mech.
It’s functionally the same movie as Battle: LA, which is fine by me.
Pournelle, too. This is clearly inspired by their work there.
Book 5 of 2026: Dungeon Crawler Carl by @mattdinniman.bsky.social. Okay, I get the hype. This was a lot of fun to read.
🤷🏻♂️
That feels like a safe bet.
Maybe stand up an animated show that is set alongside the original series so that you can tell some more planet of the week adventures.
If I were in charge, I would do a couple of things. Launch continuation that lasts for a couple of seasons that takes the characters to a good end along the way introduced new characters as a backdoor pilot and launch a companion series.
I would forgive them for getting my hopes up if this is all just tee-ing up a Serenity set.
I *have* thought that it would be good to follow a different set of characters around, sort of like how TNG picked up after TOS. But we'll see!
Agreed re: Whedon. I honestly don't think that he's going to be back. Baldwin, yeah.
I'm holding back judgement until I see something concrete about what their plans are. I'd be interested in seeing a continuation of the crew and where they're at.
I'm usually an optimist when it comes to these sorts of things, and I've settled into the "if they're bringing it back, maybe they'll learn from the stuff that hasn't aged well" mindset.
I've gotten a couple of really passive aggressive ones, usually along the lines of "Cosplay history. Wow, you really wrote about *that*, huh?" which just struck me as bizarre.

It’s such a cool place.
I do have a bunch of those.
.@ucriverside.bsky.social recently digitized thousands of pictures taken by Jay Kay Kline. It's a daunting and important project, and shines a great window into the world of fandom during the late 20th century.
I spoke with @dracopoullos.bsky.social about his work on it:
Grew up loving #2, but I've really been loving #3.
