The problem for me in fully leaving Twitter has not been friends but work. I need to be able to approach people who are often hard to find and hard to contact.
I've also built up an extensive catalogue of artists and illustrators that I keep tabs on etc. but it's probably similar for most people.
I've finally lost all hope that Twitter may one day return to good hands. I can't wait any longer, keeping an account there feels like a continuous betrayal of my own values, even though I haven't used it in a year. I have to get rid of my presence there.
It pains me, but not because I love Twitter.
Sorta interested to see where this platform goes, though I don't see the need for their protocol separate from ActivityPub. Seems like wanting to be different just for the sake of being incompatible with what already exists.
