So Iran is stopping the world in its tracks by stopping the oil shipping trade routes through waterways it controls. Huh. It's almost like there's a material reason why loads of imperial powers have long wanted to control Iran but also been leery of attacking them.
In the boot, by chance?
Bizarre seeing the ghouls lambasting the apparently outrageous spending during the early 2020s. Turns out that it is not that easy to balance the books when you crash the economy. Austerity always backfires.
"Liberation of the people of Iran cannot be imposed by foreign powers. Freedom can only emerge from the struggle of the people themselves, and turning social movements into instruments of state rivalries will ultimately harm society." @freedompress.bsky.social freedomnews.org.uk/2026/03/10/i...
At my big age of 41 I just need to learn that good things donβt get amplified. If a minority is bad it will get amplified to look like itβs the majority. If the majority is bad then no question. If major it is good then minority gets amplified. And so on. Anti vaxxers are a tiny group of bad actors.
Wars have public support when:
1) The country was attacked and has a good self-defense case.
2) Leaders persuade the people that a war of choice is in the national interest and important enough to be worth the risks,
And that's pretty much it. Neither apply to the Iran war. Not even a little.
What began as a street fight in Lyon has migrated online and back into the streets. Extremist figures, and rhetoric amplified by the Trump administration, are fueling the narrative, turning the death of one activist into a rallying point for protests and calls for retaliation across Europe.
Air power alone isn't causing regime change?
Iranians didn't react to foreign attack by rising up and suddenly discovering the capabilities to overthrow their government?
A plan to arm foreign Kurdish fighters opened such a big can of worms that the US scrapped it?
Huh. Who could've known.

Witkoff admits he and Jared Kusher are communicating with Russia through Putin adviser Yuri Ushakov "independently." Witkoff goes on to say the Russians told them they are not sharing info with Iran. Pinky promised.
Trump, when asked, "It sounds like the Russians are helping Iran target [USians]. What do we do?

Evergreen headline. Sucks that it takes life-or-death, verifiable outcomes of war for outlets to lead with it.

No principles, no morality, no information, no expertise, just endlessly appeasing Trump, Putin, Netanyahu and assorted billionaires and foreign oligarchs or chasing the next headline, until suddenly colliding with reality. Bang, oof.

Holy cow, Ukraine offered to help the US prepare to counter Iranian drones, but the Trump regime turned them down, too focused on pushing the narrative that Ukraine βhas no cardsβ and should surrender to Russia.
But now the US is back, asking for help after attacking Iran and getting fire back.

So 2 Covid-19 Royal Commissions now find Labour did an excellent job & led NZ to one of the best outcomes globally. The report also vindicates the economics. If $30 billion was spent on schools, infrastructure etc that's amazing and supportive.
