Otherwise, if it's specifically taste, you'd have to get into Reverse Osmosis water treatment. Nothing else really gets rid of "taste" like that. I've got awful tap water at home and even a $2500 double stage filter, softener, and UV lamp didn't help. It did fix other issues, but not taste.
Brita filters usually put more aluminum into the water than anything else... If you want a filter that might actually put a dent in it, try a Lifestraw filter. They offer these big pitchers that filter even like swamp water into drinkable water. I have one for my cottage... More expensive, but great
