Jedidah C. Isler, PhD, was the first African-American woman to complete her PhD in astrophysics at Yale.

Isler was one of the first three student members of the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program, a program designed to increase the number of under-represented minorities with STEM degrees.

She earned a Masters in Physics and received her PhD from Yale in 2014. Her dissertation earned the Roger Doxsey Dissertation Prize from the American Astronomical Society.

This horse is too clever. He opens every strap, velcro, line and rope…..So now he has a rope in each corner, so he cant turn around and open the girth.

My heart is broken. My 2 year old horse, Óskablesi, had an accident on the field.
X-ray shows he has a fracture on his pelvis.
So he is on BOX rest, for 4-6 weeks. If he does’nt get better, we will have to put him to rest. And so i have been crying for 2 dayz.

Vera Rubin, PhD, was an American astronomer who discovered dark matter.

Rubin earned her PhD at Georgetown University in 1954. She had attempted to enroll in the astronomy program at Princeton, but was barred due to her gender.

Working with Kent Ford, Rubin’s observations of the stars within spiral galaxies showed that galaxies must contain more mass than can be directly observed, the first results supporting the theory of dark matter.

Among her many honors, Rubin was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1981, only the second woman astronomer ever elected.

THE IRONI IS: Greenl. and Denmark are in a defence alliance with USA since WW2. the Americans could just step up their military in Greenland, if they feel the need for more security, no one is telling them they cant, its part off the alliance. So all this these threats are really not nessasary.
