It’s 11.35am. I’ve just got up. This is breakfast. Eaten of a Kintsugi plate I repaired myself. Living the dream!

Since 2016, there have been 3 elections, 6 PMs, and 4 different Brexit deals, none of which the Brexiters like.
Yet the same Brexiters who said voting on those deals would break democracy, want another election, because they don't like the result of the one 4 months ago.
These people are toddlers.
If starting your weekend with a stoat on a trampoline is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

John Prescott “the unseen glue that held an otherwise potentially unstable coalition – old and New Labour, unions and bosses, grassroots and government, heart and head – together”. Lovely words from @gabyhinsliff.bsky.social
First Date We’d so much in common, that was clear from the start: a marriage of souls, like de Beauvoir and Sartre. The connection was instant, almost irrational: simply simpatico, fully compatible. You confessed you loved winter, north Yorkshire, and cats. ‘Me, too!’ I responded. ‘How amazing is that?’ You were wild about Wharton: you loved Ethan Frome. ‘His best,’ I said, thinking I’d read him when home. You praised a revival of Pinter’s Dumb Waiter. I nodded along. I should google that later. The discussion then turned to things that you hated: Pulp Fiction, you thought, was quite over-rated. ‘You make some good points,’ I eventually said. I could always hide that poster under my bed. You spoke of a loathing of poetry that rhymed and I said yes, that stuff’s awful. Brian Bilston
Today’s poem is called ‘First Date’.
Wow. According to this image it looks like nurses - whose real-terms pay has declined by at least 20% since 2010 are responsible for driving up UK borrowing. Thanks for clearing that up BBCNews
If ‘quiddling’ were an Olympic sport I’d be a gold medalist 🏅Now I really must get back to pairing the lids with boxes in my extensive plastic takeaway container collection…
I’m loving the whole ‘choose your own algorithm feed’ @jay.bsky.team. So I’ve chosen Japanese food featuring eggs and I’m looking forward to what it brings…
Thank you for all my birthday wishes. I’m so grateful to have reached the age where rose gold trainers, kitten-themed tomato seeds, a half round jewellery file and a pair leopard print candles are what make me shamelessly happy. 🙏
Nothing says ‘wild decadent birthday celebration’ quite like staring at tiny green rectangles for 40 minutes… #Glastonburytickets
Feels like we’ve gone back to the future in a good way #friendsreunited
