Is that a thing that happens though? This seems like a hypothetical that's chosen to lead to a particular answer rather than demonstrate an actual problem that needs to be solved by assuming sex.

Most, yes. All, no.

We're not aware of them having a concept of gender. If they do, it's beyond our ability to study currently.

But funny you should mention that. Non-human animals sometimes have very striking examples of deviating from the sexual dimorphism typical of their species, like lionesses with manes.

Are those species ovoviviparous?

A-10 is basically obsolete for its original mission against a near-peer adversary with modern air defenses. There is however a desperate need for an efficient drone hunter for taking out swarms of easier targets. Probably also a drone itself, so less need for survivability.

Ah, yes, Hamas and Iran are "basically the same" if you're racist enough.

You can defer your taxes until later in the year, but you have to pay interest on it.

They're running that pipeline at max capacity right now, and the Houthis did in fact manage to disable it in 2019.

That and RAM getting cheaper.

Metered street parking is already free for anyone with a NYC disabled parking permit. This is not the case for the state permit, but you don't need to be a resident to get the city permit. www.nyc.gov/html/dot/htm...

This is the price with Saudi Aramco's Red Sea pipeline still moving 7 million barrels/day and them drawing from their foreign reserves. The reserves won't last long, and that pipeline can be disabled by drone strike, as the Houthis proved in 2019, so it can go much higher.

I once saw a guy meet his dope dealer at Dunkin in the early afternoon.

The Houthis disabled this pipeline in 2019 with a drone strike. I don't know if there's anything keeping them from doing it again.

The more advanced counter-battery radar systems are mounted on vehicles that are a lot easier to hit than an F-35. The US military isn't used to getting hit back as hard as they know Iran is still capable of if they put those assets in range.

They probably had a plan that predated knowing that Iran had 60,000 Shahed drones.

Iran blew up a lot of that monitoring.

Making sure they control the Strait even if their drones and rockets get taken out.

Steering and propulsion are at the back of the ship, so they're aiming drones and rockets there to disable them.

They're disabling rather than sinking tankers because they still have waters and shores to lose. But diplomatically? Burn it all down.

They're offering passage through the Strait for any country that cuts off diplomatic relations with the US and Israel. They probably won't get takers on that, but it's a message for people like Rubio who are slightly competent that they will hurt us beyond just blowing up radar.

If you know a cryptosystem can be sabotaged by using a number with a not particularly rare property, there are so many special numbers that you can find one that sabotages it. That's why "smallest number with the desired properties" has become popular. 2/2

There's a concept in cryptography called a "nothing up my sleeve" number. Sometimes it's just the smallest number with the required properties. Sometimes it's pi or e or phi. One project used a hash of the Declaration of Independence. 1/

Some US ships and bases have "wall of lead" machine guns that only cost about $10,000 each time they're fired. But they're so short range that the drone often still damages something due to inertia.

For 45 years their planning reached the conclusion that it was a bad idea and we shouldn't do it. Then Trump fired all those people and put Yes men in charge.

Also carriers are so tall that there are parts of the shipping channel where the top of the carrier would be out of the water while sitting on the bottom, which would make the relatively narrow channel even more difficult to navigate until it could be disassembled. 2/2

If they wanted to sink a tanker, they easily could have. They're hitting the stern to take out the rudders and engines so they'll be disabled without creating an environmental disaster on their shores. 1/

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.
