Last month, we celebrated two key moments in Ward 8βthe ribbon-cutting at Anacostia Rec at Ketcham and the groundbreaking at Douglass Community Center.
These facilities represent kept promisesβand reflect of our ongoing investments in the nation's #1 park and rec system.
All 26 DC public libraries have been funded, rebuilt, or renovated since I became Mayor of Washington, DC.
Important: Lottery applications for the 2026-27 school year close today in Washington, DC.
Families with students going into PK3β8th grade must apply through the lottery.

We're preparing for a chance of snow and freezing rain in Washington, DC.

When I became Mayor, I wanted to create a way for residents to weigh in on the budget before the Executive sends it to the Council.
So, I started Budget Engagement Forumsβand since, residents have come out year after year.
Final forum: Tonight, 5:30PM, Dock 5 at Union Market.
Nearly 40,000 Washingtonians have had help affording college from DCTAG in the past 25 years.
And this year alone, 4,500 students were approvedβthe highest in 5+ years.
Now, students can receive $15,00 per year for college, previously capped at $10,000.
Applications are OPEN.
