I think it's pretty common to feel that way about sequential art because you're getting better with every panel.

One of my favourite anime. Big fan of the dub where two out of three of the leads are voiced by Dark Souls VAs!
Country Roooooads, Aveoooo
Noise cancelling headphones for me, though that doesn't always work.
I found it surprisingly difficult to choose after the first six.
I had to get a refund (albeit from a different store) on a preorder from 3 years ago for a figure that released 2 years ago! My brother has one and it annoys me that they never shipped out mine.

posting some TF Siege wallpapers from the blacklight easter egg era because it was a neat bit of bonus effort that should be appreciated โค๏ธ
The art for Siege went hard. That Jetfire art is so good
The original would have worked really nice dubbed by Ocean...
...and not... Canada? Missed opportunity.
I didn't even know there was a dub of the original Anne of Green Gables!
Modern TVs shouldn't have built in ads...
Digital vector art depicting a blonde, musclebound woman in her early 30s with hair in a poofy 1980s style that covers one eye. She is dressed in a form of stylised gymwear with leather boots.
Finally got to update Mariana's design after last drawing her in January 2025. Get ready to learn some self-defence!

When asked which I prefer, I remind Firefly fans that Firefly does not feature Twilight Suzuka
To think that for years, I saw people act very dismissively when the similarities were pointed out. But Outlaw Star rules. The flaws only make it more endearing imo
One can only hope that the cave-in is sooner rather than later.
I thought Crystalis was ok... but like you said in the review, maybe a bit ambitious for the NES. I thought the art style was pretty nice, and the premise was good. I can picture what a tie-in OVA might have looked like.
Street Fighter 4 type of build
The Unite Warriors versions have better paint, but that's about it. The Studio Series versions are smaller, but far sturdier and less visibly hollow.
In a similar manner, watching Seven Samurai will make sense of a list of movies too long to type out here.
This has got to be the name of a band, surely
I've heard that the Hasbro Netflix Soundwave yellowed over time. The Dramatic Capture version I got has been fine though. I think this theory might hold some weight.
Completely fair, what does this even mean?
He looks like he's trying to run away, but his legs won't let him
An illustration of Chun-Li from Capcom's Street Fighter series. She is depicted in a fighting stance with a leg raised, one fist parallel to her face and an open palm extended toward the viewer. Updated from a piece originally drawn in 2024.
I know I reposted this yesterday, but I felt compelled to further tweak things, including the embroidery on her waistband.
The Age of the Primes
Continues to grace us with
Another good toy.
Browt is cracking me UP
There was a great thread a few years back documenting how most 80s anime hairstyles were inspired by action films from Hong Kong... anyway, guess who started watching those not long afterward?
Watch the films and shows that inspired your favourite anime and their respective directors and artists. It's fun to branch out and learn where they got that imagery or that character's hair or that narrative structure.
Agreed. I think the overemphasis on detailing in characters' eyes and the tiny noses and mouths of recent anime really don't help.
