Don't worry. You'd need 10-20 million ERROR-CORRECTED q-bits to realistically attack ECDSA / secp256k1. Right now we have < 1,500 error prone q-bits with no possible scaling in sight. Even if quantum computing is ready in 20 years, there are multiple (quite elegant) solutions to protect BTC.

Unfortunately not directly, but I had a battery shield for the D1 Mini lying around which I repurposed for this project. The low power mode for the ESP32 board I mention above seems to be pretty decent, though. The weather display runs for several months on one charge.
So it wasn't an esp8266 at all. I remembered that wrong.
