Definitely who I’m choosing this time!
The person in the reel also said something similar to this (don’t quote me):
Community is when you have an item that you use sometimes, and you share it with others when you’re not using it.
Convenience is when you keep the item to yourself *in case* you need it at any time, so you don’t share it.
I believe I saw it on instagram somewhere as a reel.
It’s something I’m learning as I get older. We gain through community so much more than what we sacrifice from convenience.
This past week I updated my portfolio with some minimal changes.
Under the hood I've implemented a design system to streamline the website as I scale content.
I've also updated my "About Myself" section with the most recent information. You can check out my portfolio at: www.daniel-narvaez.com
The next LoZ game Link is gonna wake up in General Hospital 😭
I can get behind a graphics improvement. I’ve been playing a few Nintendo games where I appreciated 60 Fps and no performance drops.
What I don’t wanna see is another pointless open world like they did with Mario Kart. I played it this week and was so let down.
This was the exact reason I avoided playing SV for 3 whole years. Really unacceptable from a hundred-billion dollar franchise.
But when I ran it on a Switch 2 the performance was like night and day. Ended up 100%ing it and it’s now one of my fav games in the mainline
It's time. Perfect Tides: Station to Station is out on PC and Mac.

I rotoscope all the animations for my adventure games, which means mostly doing all my own stunts.
If you met me at #gdc last year, I probably gave you my business card.
I got creative with how I attempted to stand out from the hundreds of business cards passed out at big events.
I'm dropping the envelope for now, but I hope to do more hands-on projects like this for my career!

^^ this. Also the coffee chats in Yerba Buena with people you haven’t seen in years
Yeah! I’m not sure when it opened but it’s near Astor Pl
A picture of me standing next to 3 statues of the letters "GDC". I'm standing between the 'D' and the 'C'.
Hey everyone, I've secured my way back to #GDC this year. I'm glad I get to show face again.
If you're into systems design, want to catch up with me, or you've got an opportunity you think I'd be a great fit for, let's connect at GDC!

Nice. I usually go to the Bookoff in midtown, but I want to check out the one by NYU one of these days.
Now that I have more experience, I find it’s easier to take risks and make assumptions about the players I want to target.
Like if I were to make a card game, I’d assume my players know how energy/mana works.
I’m like that. I start from the assumption, “my player has never used a gamepad before.”
This started when I read this one article, I gotta find it again, but it changed my perspective on how to teach players when they play my games.
A fundamental common denominator.
Or also how on the DS family if you wanted to soft reset a game you could press, I think L + R + Start + Select all at once 😵💫
And you could even add a timeout interval if the player takes too long between presses.
It could be something modest like 4-5sec that the flairs go away.
I think I’ll test that if my next game jam game could use it.
You are so right lmaooo
BUT, it’d still be great for Keyboard controls, if it’s the keyboard alone.
If a game gets played with a keyboard, more often than not it means there’s mouse control, which is far more intuitive just bc its second nature to navigate UI with a mouse these days.
I can understand how, and I agree.
I don’t think this design got done after the wii because this works perfect for only a Wii remote.
You can comfortably press A/B with one finger each, but most games now use a gamepad layout.
Asking players to press A/B or X/O with just one finger is awkward.
The exact moment of the show when I, suspecting nothing, jumped off my couch and made caveman noises at the sight of “DLN.001”.
I excitedly could not catch my breath. The teasing all night of an “unexpected return”, the orchestral build up, all of it.
Welcome back, Mega Man. 💙 #TheGameAwards
MEGA MANNNNNNNN
“Do a Riot fist bump!”
It’s my 2nd week out here in the Pacific Northwest installing hardware for clients.
The other day I got to visit @riotgames.com in Seattle!
This was an awesome experience. I’ve been a League player on-and-off since 2011, and I started playing VALORANT this year.
Driving by all these cities I only see on job applications.
Happy Silksong Day to all who observe!
Bummer. enjoy!
I’m going tomorrow, will you be there as well?
