also if you really like the music and have some spare cash please consider supporting her by buying her soundtrack on bandcamp riekay.bandcamp.com/album/codena...
If you haven't read Henni's postmortem on the #CodenameTYPHOON soundtrack yet, please have a look.
Her music and UI work is fantastic, she went way above and beyond with all her contributions, and it wouldn't have been the same without her. Thank you Henni!! ❤️

xkcd 2347, but edited by me to say "All post-WWII popular culture" for the mass of things built on the shaky foundation and "Lax enforcement of copyright law" for the critical single piece of that foundation that, if removed, would topple the whole thing
what I wish I could scream whenever I see artists clamouring to extend the scope of copyright and enforce it harder, be it to stop AI or for any other reason
Rush Hour credits blooper reel. Jackie Chan points at Chris Tucker and says "He cannot speak English."

How to Make a Killing (2026)
it's fine. fine excuse to go take a walk somewhere. The movie is at its best when it's doing levels in a Hitman game but there's not nearly enough of that happening. half the Hitman levels get relegated to a montage and then the movie like. does heterosexual shit. shrug
why the fuck does every goddamned news site say "you're out of free articles" when I have not visited that website in at least like three or six weeks. why do these cookies not reset after a reasonable cooldown time
If you’re interested in learning how the soundtrack for “Codename: Typhoon” came to be, you can now read about it in my #postmortem:

god it's so great to see the return of film grain on anime cels
It looks complicated from the outside but don't worry, it's very simple. it all comes down to who believes who is misgendering the yuri genre, and who is attacking who over this. users who question the assumptions behind the idea that you can "misgender" a fiction genre are themselves misgendered
the Anglo-internet Yuri Gender Wars which center around the very fraught discourses surrounding the hypothesized Genders of Yuri and various disputes concerning their supposed configurations and existences, or lack thereof
GL periodization: the "New GL Era" (2020 -) ["reiwa yuri" in japan, china's "baihe" subculture, the explosion of GL dramas in thailand. there's a currently-nameless trend in the anglosphere also happening concurrently and in conversation with this]
I don't know how someone can openly ship fictional characters and then be like "if you draw or write about those fictional characters having sex we can't be friends"
feels like there's some unresolved cognitive dissonance there. like uh. I dunno. maybe you need to grow up perhaps
drawing any fictional character at all is nonconsensual since they didn't consent to have their picture drawn. thus all art of fictional characters is banned
although y'know. this is obviously the least of either of our personal problems at present. I still don't really have money for anything and am only coasting by on living with Ophelia + the goodwill of people backing us on Patreon. and those could both evaporate if things go horribly wrong. so. weh
we have some bigger Gravity House projects in mind that are going to need an actual budget if they are to come to fruition but for that we need funding and right now the most likely route we could take is see if Ophelia's dad could be charmed into giving us some cash to work with
at least, in the foreseeable future, y'know.
I don't want us to be famous or anything but I do hope that at some point we acquire enough of an audience and funding for our art that it can be produced sustainably
webp support getting implemented now is such a monkey's paw curl, because at this point it has pretty wide adoption and you could easily explain why it's an upgrade from jpeg, but everyone with the power to do so is currently under a curse where they can only speak in argument-openers
baby GL fans have this backwards idea where they think women make the fluff romance & mature yuri and men make the unorthdox perverted or moe adjacent yuri. in reality a lot of the male creators generally are the ones making the "pure yuri" stuff and the women are doing "all of the above"
How did every queer person born in the last 40 years manage to fall for the exact same psyop?
Getting the vast majority of queer people to willingly excise youths from queer spaces and isolate them, so that the far right doesn't have to go through us to get to vulnerable kids. Additionally, getting queers to paint each other as predators for supporting and caring for youths.
Xelia "All stupid ideas have consequences. And usually, around these parts, I am those consequences."
XxU (2026)
...I don't know how I feel about this one. it's compelling but also overly didactic and that does not really meld well with the revenge fantasy.
and like. it is a fantasy. we all know we're not doing this. this shit is the domain of white men with contradictory or inscrutable politics
letterboxd review i wrote which says: maybe the most Mitsubishi branded explosions in cinema history. anyway, lots of cool shit in this movie. The park brawl, the traffic platforming, the three hot interrogator girls, etc. but also the ableist caricature of the deaf/mute bomb builder guy unfortunately sours the final fight for me
