I taught (and co-taught) a course on human population genetics from 2000-2024. Having retired, I'm now making all the course materials public: github.com/alanrogers/p... #popgen #evbio

A photo of a printed college course syllabus titled βHuman Life Science Laboratory.β The class meets on Mondays from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in room AB 221. The instructor is Jaedyn Lalonde, with an email address and phone number partially blurred out. Below the header is the course description, which explains that the course explores the structure and function of human body systems for non-science majors. It emphasizes both normal and abnormal life processes, the philosophy and history of science, and the scientific method. Laboratory topics include tissues and the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, and reproductive systems. The section ends with βStudent Learning Outcomes.β A yellow notepad is partially visible at the top of the image
I will be an instructor for the Human Life Science Lab in the Fall!
I have some exciting news to share...once the paperwork is signed. DM me if you want to know early!
Congrats to your cousin!

Updated the code a bit today.
I didn't make any drastic changes but I added a lot more comments to it to make it easier to follow. Also, I finally added the wildcard selection.

Inside me there are two wolves. One of them has a 15 genome edits the other 20 genome edits. Neither of them is a dire wolf.
It is easier to protect the species we have than it is to resurrect those we have lost.
It is easier to fix our climate than it is to build a new one from scratch on a planet without an atmosphere.
These strategies are not conservation, they are egotistical lies.
A colorful flyer for the βWISE Study Partyβ hosted by Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) to help students prepare for finals. The top features science-themed icons (microscope, atom, DNA, etc.) and the words βWISE Study Partyβ in rainbow colors. Below, details are presented on a notepad graphic. The event is on Friday, May 2nd, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in ACC 116. STEM faculty will be available to help, and food is provided by CSTEP (logo included). It's a month late, but this is my first Shiny app based on March Mammal Madness (it's not a perfect copy, I gave up w the WildCard).
I'm pretty proud of this code since I am learning R as my hobby. Love any (constructive) feedback!
